I literally stopped thinking so much about it, and suddenly, my body naturally started auto balancing for me. At the moment, i am comfortable cruising at 15 - 20 mph. I learned on grass because I was afraid to fall on pavement. By doing this, I learned to balance on bumpy terrain, and pavement/speedbumps are really easy to manage now. I upgraded from a V8S, and I absolutely love the Lynx. Having never ridden a heavier wheel, I did get some scary wobbles at around 29 mph that I just barely rode out but I obviously chalk that up to inexperience just feeling out where my limits are. I also feel like at 180lbs that I should have gone with the 62lb suspension. The 66 isn't terrible, it just feels a little bit stiffer than I would have liked. Otherwise it's been a blast so far.
@Riceman-o1p10 ай бұрын
I love mine too! Had the same experience with wobbles at high speed but it was my fault. Be sure to pay attention to Chooch's comments at around six minutes. Once I started carving and pumping left to right I didn't have any more wobbles even at speed. So I strongly believe that as you get better that will happen to you less and less. I got pretty severe wobbles and I simply leaned forward and sped up and then started carving and they went away immediately. The other time I got wobbles was because I was zombie riding into braking.

I like how chooch gets as one with His wheels , it really is a nice feeling. To go all day riding Fast, slow, taking small bumps And cornering faster than you would normally and not even Slip. At the end of the day when the sun goes down and you look back on the day and no incidents...it puts a smile on your face😊.,(maybe it's that God feeling) Stay safe folks🙏👍

Chooch that's all good you are able to ride the wheel. I got My first bicycle in 1957. It weighed a ton. Full metal fenders a rear rack I could ride with a friend on the back. Let's go from 1957 to 1977. At 27 years old I had a car that stayed in garage at home. I was riding road bikes that weighed 1/4 of what My first bike weighed. I belonged to a riding club called SELF PROPELLED. We would ride half centuries and centuries 50 and 100 miles. This one day a fellow club member named Bill and I were riding. The new Cats eye velo cycle computer hit the market. All members had one. We were as We called it " flying low " about 20 mph. A car backed on to the street. I reacted I leaned to the left, never stopped peddling. Bill had slowed a little what ever reason, He had a couple of seconds to react. We were headed to a club meeting to plan the next Sunday's ride. Bill told the group about the ' near hit '. He said guys you should have seen Mack! He leaned and never stopped peddling. He admitted that if he had been on point he would have plowed into the car. Chooch I carried You and the readers down memory lane to ask this question. What happens if you have to stop on a dime with 4¢ change? Mack

Awesome video, Chooch. I haven't seen anything from your channel in a while, so it's nice to know that you're still in the game. I was looking at getting the Patton for my next wheel, but now I'm having second thoughts. For me, the Lynx is a game changer for sure. My only concern is how it would work for me as a smaller rider ( 5'4" 135 lbs.)
@squidsleap10 ай бұрын
Your around the size of Chooch so from the looks of the videos it should work very well. I'm Your height but way heavier (193, with gear and a pack 205) and my only issue with larger wheels is having to put more pressure on the pads since I can't get my weight off center as far as a tall dude. For what it's worth my full send is not a Chooch full send, but I do ride hard when I can. The Lynx is going to be my next wheel....but I'll need to sell a couple to help pay for it and that is always hard to do. I love them all for different things.
@ionflow107310 ай бұрын
@squidsleap good call. I'm riding a 16X right now, and I really think that I've outgrown it. The wheel is constantly yelling at me to slow down, and sometimes it tells me that I'm overpowering it. I still like the wheel for traveling on public transport but I think it's time for and upgrade. The Lynx being the same weight as the Patton with more torque, speed, and range is definitely a no-brainer. Plus, I'm thinking that the larger diameter tire will make it that much more comfortable. So I'll just have to save money for a little while longer. Thanks for the feedback.
@squidsleap10 ай бұрын
@ionflow1073 I'd have trouble selling a 16x too, it's a great wheel! My oldest wheel is a 16s, with 6300 miles on it. That one I would sell but it's beat up, old, and slow. Seems more worth it to keep for teaching other people to ride haha (I have excuses for all of them, I'm married and the nanny boss thinks two is too many haha)
@ionflow107310 ай бұрын
@squidsleap I know what you mean. It's definitely a passion that very few people understand. I'm thinking that I might use my 16x to teach others as well. I've already taught one of my cousins' kids how to ride, along with a few others. Besides, it has sentimental value to me personally. It's my old faithful. It may not get me where I need to be fast, but it WILL get me there reliably.

If you’ve ever ridden one of these, you’d know that pedestrians don’t care how fast you’re going. When you approach a pedestrian on these, their first thought no matter how fast or slow you’re going is “what is that thing” “that’s cool, what is that!” People don’t care how fast you’re going. People only stop to think about that stuff here on KZbin. Not in the moment when this goes whizzing by you. It’s 99 percent of the time.. “what is that thing” out of curiosity.
