Oh for sure! I was dead last in the AOY standings at this point last year, having been skunked in my first 4 tournaments. But I am currently sitting at 15th after 3 tournaments (with one skunk, and two 13th places). When I get frustrated with my fishing failures, I make myself look at the progress from last year. As long as I am moving forward, there is still hope for getting it!

Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky been the hot spot for strong storms for the last 5 or 6 years. I had couple close calls from Tornados at the house and a few storms at Kiser Lake where i barely got off the water. Storms roll up fast there. Looks like East Harbor will have perfect weather. About 10 casts nailed a fat 17". About 30 yards in front of the water edge campground trail. Dragged on the bottom slowly. Hit like a sheephead!

Thank you! I don't know any female anglers from KY yet (Or I guess I do now... hi! I'm Melissa!), but I do fish sometimes with the Bluegrass Kayak Anglers who are an amazing group of super nice guys that run a KY tournament trail. I really admire these guys and love what they are doing with their trail! This is their website: www.bluegrasskayakanglers.com/ Or you can find them on facebook: facebook.com/bluegrasskayakanglers

Strictly Sail offered me a great deal on a little trailer, but my car is so old and has so many miles that my Honda Master Mechanic friend said don't do it. So I'm stuck with car topping for now!

Brutal conditions, but you made the best of it and did great. I like that they let you measure 8"+.
@GirlGoneFishing Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah that is one of the things that makes the CKF trail a little more "beginner friendly". It used to be 3 fish and 8" minimum, but raised it this year to 5 fish so people would be more used to fishing the "real tournament way", but kept the 8" minimum to make people feel more accomplished. Love this little trail!

Thank you! I am really excited for Erie, I just hope I can find fish! i havent watched your videos in some time. you have certainly come a long way from the beginning. the last time i watched, you had a kayak with no pedals, and you were primarily fishing crankbaits. i see you are using an assortment of techniques now. good to see you're still doing the tournament thing. good luck this year. i'm actually heading to this lake on monday, for the first time. you ever fish Williamstown Lake?

It’s tough losing a fish when you have it in the boat. I suggest using your net at the end of the board to keep the fish in your boat and position the fish on the board before you pick up the camera. Good job adjusting your bait choices for the second half. I generally won’t throw any bait more than a half hour without a bite if it hasn’t produced a fish at any point. Good luck on the next one.

I don't know what else to do to get the cart in! I have to tip it over completely on the side to get the cart into the scupper holes, and I can't tip it unless it is clear of the water or I lose stuff into the water since the Lynx doesn't have actual storage hatches so everything is on the deck. I can't see another way to do this without dragging it up the ramp until it is clear of the water unless the water is warm enough for me to actually submerge myself to get the wheels in.

Hi, Just started following you channel. I have a question about the Gorilla tape you put on your hull after you dragged your yak up that ramp. How’s it holding up? Can you please add that to your next video? Thanks
@GirlGoneFishing Жыл бұрын
That Waterproof Gorilla Tape has had the unintended consequence of being super grippy on concrete making it almost impossible for me to slide my boat into the water. When I put it on my Lynx, I had originally gone out to buy T-Rex Waterproof Tape, which seems to be less spongy and might be less grippy, but when I got it home it turns out there was Gorilla Tape in the T-Rex Tap row and all I, dummy that I am sometimes, checked on the package was that it was the waterproof version. The tape now has a lot of dings in it, which means it was doing the job of protecting the hull, but I’m going to try to take it off this off season and try something else. I mean I’ll try to take it off, it is going to be almost impossible to remove even with a scraper, a heat gun, and a couple of days to work on it. Not the solution I had hoped for.
