Flores's lawsuit forces the NFL to prove its stance that the"Roony Rules isn't a shame, a farce. It forces the NFL to present documentation. Not good for the NFL. Exposing their their"dirty laundry isn't what they want. And without legal confrontation in regards to racism and bigotry, change can't happen. You can't force people NOT to racist or bigoted. But you can certainly hold them accountable for their actions and behaviors.

Want to list some of these "plenty of instances"? At the end of the day the coaches are in charge of the team and if the team fails its on them. You think these owners care what color their coaches are if they win and make their team money? There's more black people in all levels of coaching today than there ever has been. This entire case is just I didn't get the job I wanted so lets use the race card. This is what happens when you have modern America making everything about race. It's also laughable he tries to say the league is like a plantation. I'm pretty sure everyone here would love to be on a plantation where you play 17 games a year and make millions of dollars.

@@hansolo6101 the Rooney rule doesn't force any team to hire a black coach. It was instituted to force them to merely consider and interview at least one black candidate, since before the rule, most teams didn't even consider interviewing black head coaching candidates, let alone interview one. It's not consideration based on race, it's addressing the fact that the white owners and execs did not consider qualified people because of their race.

Shell is kind of an outlier as Al Davis, who knew Shell on a personal level and was a maverick, hired him. Not to say that Art didn’t deserve the shot, but ONLY Davis ever hired him, and he took the Raiders to the AFC Championship game AND had an overall winning record. The case study for me is Pete Carroll, who had a losing record with the Jets in ‘94. He then was hired 3 years later by the Pats and had an average record. He THEN was hired 11 years later in 2010 by the Seahawks where he’s had success. Not saying that Carroll shouldn’t have had these opportunities but we ALL know that the average Black applicant ain’t even getting the FIRST opportunity and THEN have to be at LEAST as good as Carroll in his 3rd stint just to have a chance to KEEP the damn job! Bill Belicheck had 4/5 LOSING seasons as the Browns coach and then landed the Pats job 5 years later….so, read that as you will..!

@CodyVanRyn
@CodyVanRyn 2 жыл бұрын
@@hansolo6101 context matters...had he just said white people obnoxiously 3 times, it would have been just as condescending and worthless as dan and mike just callously saying we live in a racist country. But Bo gives the listener more than rhetoric, he doesnt allow people to come at him with "not all white people" so the dialog can move beyond that back and forth. He even calls it out that you cant call people racist and expect any actual development because people just get defensive or offensive to protect themselves. As a lawyer who works on employment discrimination cases, I don’t know why people think this is a loser case. 1) why would the NY lawyers take on this case if it’s a loser of a case; 2) the burden of proof in title VII cases (civil rights act of 1964) is “preponderance of evidence” or more than 50% (not definitive proof, not beyond a reasonable doubt); 3) the sham interview is enough evidence to make out a prima facie case of discrimination in the employment context. Inversely look at Flores record of bucking his leadership (a black gm), he refused to tank so they end up with Tua instead of Burrow, instead of developing Tua he benches him 1st quarter for Fitzpatrick, then refused a meeting with either Watson or Brady. The job of this coach is to fix Danny Dimes why wud u hire Flores considering how he botched QB in three major ways for Miami?

He might actually have hired Jose Baes if it were a criminal case. Jose has quite the track record and isn't afraid to go against the big guys. The team Flores picked doesn't seem to mess around, either, and they have a personal relationship with him from what i have gathered. Definitely agreed regarding Brady. He isn't the victory lap kind of guy. That said, I dislike that insiders feel the need to announce retirements before athletes have a chance to do so. They did Andrew Luck so dirty and learned nothing from it.

Elway hasn’t done his job since the Super Bowl for sure….But the plane from Cali (interview with Zac Taylor) lands at 2:30 east coast time and the meeting is at 7:30am, Elways gettin old and can barely walk. I wouldn’t be surprised if needed a morning nip or 2….Vance got 2 seasons, Fangio got 3, not 4….Broncos passed on Kyle Shannahan to hire Vance

If Flores can make a argument to get to discovery, the NFL will fold. The NFL isn’t opening pandora box of phone numbers and emails for a jury to review.

To this I day remember when the Rooney rule started and Jerry Jones paraded Coach Sherman ( I think that was his name) but he was an offensive coordinator for GB . It was awful and it all was stunt.

NFL has created more black millionaires than any entity in world history. Why are you so invested in taking that away? Because people who profiteer on black suffering told you to? Yall hurt black people more than the Klan ever could.

@@ThaSound You want to disregard actual meaningful change both through the generational wealth created, and the community work those same players and the league put in to the community on the ground. Because you want a few more NFL coaches to be black. It's like you want black people to suffer. One is a symbolic thing. The other has a real world impact. You're being played. The NFL is pumping out black millionaires. Any group in america would see that as a win, but you'd throw it away for a symbolic gesture.
