Cheers Rob, great tips, love your videos. I do have one question, lately i avoid barbless hooks because i lose the fish (not necessarily when i take it out), any advice on that? And finally a request for a future video, if you please, show us how to unclip when you get a bite. I lose sometimes the fish because I don't have a technique to unclip. I just hope i get enough turns on my real to loosen the break after

soft rods and a lighter bombs/feeder is the way to land more fish. as far as clipping up goes, I very rarely clip up for carp in open water and if I do, as you suggest, I end the cast with then rod behind me so I can get a few turns on the reel in case one runs.

Thank you, It seems that you have to search for individual matches for instance, the maker site for Match This qualifiers and the Angling trust site for Fishos and riverfest etc.

What size bait band are you using I can only find hook lengths with small bait bands to fit 4 - 6mm pellets in

Rob mate. I've been watching another well known angler fishing the bomb in summer. He suggested a 4' long hook link over loose pellets. He said some would take on the drop, I fear you may not see the bites and the fish spit out the bait. Any thoughts on hook-lengths please?
@RobWootton
@RobWootton 3 жыл бұрын
I think a nice hooklength is 7-8inch. Short enough to get a bolt effect but long enough that a fish could spot it falling

Where do you get those large side trays? Tackle shops don't sell them. Thanks in advance.

I'm "marveling" at knowledge that goes out of Your Video, however sometimes I miss some Detail like hooks, how they look and those kind of Stuff. For me it is more likely to see something. Not always sound is clear and for me understandig some tips consums more time because I miss some words. Finaly i can teaste like 30-60 % of Your wisdom : ]

why such a long hooklength?
@RobWootton
@RobWootton 6 жыл бұрын
its a good compromise between getting bites on the drop and being shot enough to be in contact with the lead for self hooking.
