Also, how can we forget the metal virus arc of idw or shadow and espio wanting to kill Eggman as tinker?

One thing I'd recommend is if you're going for a Sonic-based moveset by changing animations, then you should totally change Sonic's animation to move his legs as he does when holding the boost button as he'd do in his games. Other than that, love the spin jump and grinding features, keep up the great work.

I really like the aesthetic sonic has, he has a style similar to spider man into the spider-verse but in a way that's sorta fits better with himself. It feels like a style that completely meshes well with sonic. In simple terms this is just a absolutely cool style for Sonic 😁

I think the reason why is mostly cause they’re both cell-shaded, Spider-verse was probably inspired by Sonic Adventure/JSR for it’s style so you can definitely see the influence lol

This looks amazing. So fluid with the right amount of flourish. A quick suggestion: It seems like your voice and animations would better suit metal sonic. Especially the homing attack effect coming from his back (it would line up with metal sonic's back jet perfectly) You could even make a metal sonic prototype that could fit into the lore, so you don't have to go full metal.

This is the sonic I grew up on! I grew up with sonic 06. And although many people hated it… the game in my honest opinion was WAYYYYY ahead of its time in both graphics and gameplay/story options. Back then we had separate stories with good cutscenes and the glitches in the game weren’t even that bad… the glitches that would happen would have to be intentional for you to do them. Now we got the new voice actor for sonic and god I don’t like his voice for sonic lol. Silver was also super goated in that game.

I think that was always really badass. Sonic and shadow live in a wonderland compared to silver and the enemies he defeats. Also silver goes super silver, like super saiyan from dbz. That was badass

I think, ignoring the fact that Sonic loses speed when on foot, this actually looks like a really fun moveset that would fit Sonic so well! A game with these physics and a Sonic Frontiers styled world system would be really fun to mess around with, especially with how high the skill ceiling would be set! And the cyberspace stages that take these tricks into a linear level would be a blast, too! We just need to find a way to make the combat work with it. Momentum based damage, anyone?

If you can overhaul the game mechanics for one specific character, i'd recommend allowing him to boost while sliding, and change the slide to a spindash. with using it mid movement just going into a ball. That would go a long way towards making him feel like sonic,
