This now has me excited to play it again! I couldn't afford it when it came out so I was playing it with a friend, but the level design for the first three or four levels was kind of disappointing. Like, JSR and JSRF have such a focus to their level design and do such a great job of funneling the player through open and compact areas to objectives, but BRC levels felt more like, idk, THPS1 levels to me, like they're so freaking open and flat and I just wasn't having fun with the game tbh Anyway, I think I'll finally buy it if modding is this far along

Honestly SEGA could make a peak Sonic game following this formula. Like just tricking and styling your way through a well designed level with some light combat sprinkled in, but as a mobility feature rather than purely focusing on killing enemies. Then you get Sonic Frontiers boss fights for that adrenaline rush. That would be so good.

this is actually what I was hoping there'd be more of in the base game. The dream-memory sections were close, but I feel like there's no sense of momentum after a while and some of the platforming is lacklustre. This style of gauntlet with multiple routes and a constantly building speed (supported by the constant slide pads) was what was missing imo.

Default game movement is much slower and includes a boost mechanic. This mod just removes the hardcaps on acceleration I'm pretty sure.
