Damn, I bet some of these took a lot of takes, really considered and clean camera movement/framing, and the modded animations looked really cool! Just... cool to find such a unique edit of the game that brings out a different side of it, more weighty, more dangerous, less frenetic.

I appreciate the kind words! Thank you! And yeah, some of them took half an hour of attempts lol. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for sharing your appreciation. ✌️🙏

this is so cool, and you went the extra mile pulling out the extra animations too. I had a similar idea to work on some more grounded tricks and lines in BRC so it's really satisfying to see someone actually followed through with it.

Glad you liked it! I didn't feel like there was enough substantial stuff to do in vanilla, so messing with the trick system is what made me feel like I could actually do something worthwhile. I'd love to see a pure vanilla edit though.

I think what's most impressive here is your camera angles. Did you have to execute the lines while maintaining the desired shot?@@mish-in
@mish-in Жыл бұрын
Yeah I did all the camera movement while I played. I eventually started using the in-game button remapping to put jumping and tricks onto the R and L buttons so my thumbs could focus solely on the sticks for player & camera movement. Some of the older clips are identifiable by the more abrupt and inconsistent camera movement. Turning down the camera movement speed in settings also helped a lot since I could usually hold one direction for a while and focus on trick execution. Having short lines also made it more feasible.

Something seems different about this one... the tricks all basically look the same but the art style looks different from your other videos... did you add a filter? :D

Sick video, inaddition to the music. Do you plan on releasing those animations as a mod? Hopfully so!
@mish-in Жыл бұрын
I might post a tutorial somewhere how I did it. Every animation is already in the game's files. It was a very manual process any time I needed a different animation. There are some mods out there that have new tricks, but the method I did has a couple quirks that add some new ways to get tricks (which is how I got the cabdriver grind early in the vid). Thanks for showing interest and watching!

How'd you get the freecam? And how'd you make it focus on certain areas?
@mish-in Жыл бұрын
This one didn't use a freecam. I just controlled the camera while I was playing.

@@mish-infor the intro where solace is skating, before it cuts to gameplay? That isn't freecam? Hmnn... Might need to use mouse then, the controller camera is weird
@mish-in11 ай бұрын
Nope, I just held lightly on the sticks to turn Solace in a wide circle and the camera in the opposite direction so it stayed to pointed at his side and stayed low. Then I zoomed in during editing so you only saw his feet. Everything in the video was done on a controller.
