There’s too many factors that contributed to Dre’s departure from DR. One main one is that the work environment was basically the same as the streets; people was getting beat up. Dre stated that when a sound engineer was getting beat up over a simple mistake, that was the last straw. Pac and Dre not getting along is another factor. That's not true. The agreement between Suge and Dre was that Suge would handle all executive and business decisions, and Dre would oversee the music and artists. Dre didn't have issues with violence. Dre and Eazy spoke on the phone to settle things between them. Dre told Eazy to meet him in a room. Eazy was unnarmed. He didn't feel like he needed one. But when he got there, he saw Suge and his homies, but Dre wasn't. Dre also participated in making people drink urine. Dre was completely with the bullshit. What changed is when Suge and Michel'le started hooking up. THAT'S why Dre left Death Row.

If you take away Rob Bacon from Quik and Battlecat's 90s productions, they arent s&&^. Battlecat is 10 times better than Quik. Battlecat is the motherf^^^ who supplied Quik with the drum kits for Quik Is The Name album. Quik and Battlecat, put together, cant f^%% with Dre. You can have your opinion. I have facts. Reggie, you need to touch more on why Dre got shot in both legs by a gang member. It was over Jewell btw I thought Jewell was going to speak on that but she didn't. I guess her relationship with Dre wasn't really straightened like she did with Snoop after she decided to slander, defame them in 2011. You're right in one thing tho; Dre was really working on those songs but Daz, Suge made it seem like he was stealing beats he didn't make input on and slapping his name on it. Havoc confirmed this when he worked on Game's debut, he said Dre redid "i don't need your love & didn't ask for production credit" . Daz also didn't give Dre production credit on work he did on doggfood. Dre did more than mix the album in 1995 just like quik did more than mixing on all eyes on me. Same thing Daz did to soopafly when he was co producing with him. Cheers!

It has probably less to do with "dre taking credit for other peoples production", and more with the fact that when they say "the album is produced by dr. dre" it sells more records and is considered more special, as if they say the album is done by some no name rapper playing with a drum machine

Only problem with Quik is he just had to add the homies to his beats. Not everybody is a star. Only person to me that was worthy was Suga Free. Hi-C, AMG, K&D (I fux with Classic 220 tho), but they weren't stars. That was his problem. Nothing was wrong with the music, just the artists.

The reason dr dre credibility is questionable we know he has talent but because we hear stories about a beat that's already created the only thing he does is finalized and make touches on it. I'll get that producing but we used to assume that he was making the beats atleast 60% of the way because it's nothing wrong with help or using samples. Then you will have a producer like Babyface we kind of figured that someone will help him with majority of the beat and make the song great in the project great. But that's two totally different reputations its like dre has a reputation of a beat maker producer..... That's why it's so confusing
