The number of times Dre started over and exploded really showed how talented the guy is. It was a HUGE risk to leave Death Row. You'd think he'd NEVER make more money than he made at Death Row. To me Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Lady of Rage, RBX, Nate Dogg, Tha Dogg, Pound, Lady Of Rage, and 2Pac they are legends in hip-hop on Death Row Records. At the same time when Dr. Dre was still on Death Row things was not the same anymore dealing with Snoop's muder trial, D.O.C. and RBX leaving the lable, and Suge's behavior was out of control until 2Pac came to the picture and it was just 2Pac and Suge Knight. The problem was that Dr. Dre. Only did one song off 2Pac's All eyez on me album while Daz, and other producers on his album and Dre was getting credit for that. Shortly after Dre got tired of the stuff that was going on Death Row and he left the lable to start Aftermath.

Harry was actually the person suge knight responded to and cautioned suge knight to avoid spotlight and just focus on business. All said and done when dr dre walked off to start fresh and some ppl questioned how did he leave a company that he co owned,the reality was that it wasnt really his to begin. Another thing that i was confused about was when u mentioned about jayz ghostwriting for dr dre while preparing for the blueprint 2 and the only album that i can think of is the chronic 2001 and that didnt come out til 99 / 2000 and the blueprint 2 came out 2002, the blueprint 2001 ,so that section kinda throwed me off.

As far as Dre & Pac, they were cool & collaborated for like a year before Dre ended up leaving Death Row. "California Love" was one of 2 songs Dre produced on "All Eyez on Me" - the other one was "Can't C Me". The 1st version of the song has 3 verses featuring Dr. Dre's rapping. Pac 1st heard Dr. Dre's session while at Dre's in-house studio & asked Dre to put him on the track. Dre did so & also did an additional remix of the song. The original was released as a double-A side single together with "How Do U Want It" & was originally intended for Dr. Dre's album The Chronic II (which later became Chronic 2001), while the remix was included on All Eyez on Me. The song was made & written in Dr. Dre's in-house studio, Pac came in and wrote his verse in 15 minutes. The video was done the weekend after the song was recorded. Cali Love was released Christmas of '95, Dre left Death Row in May of '96, & Pac was dissing Dre on The Don Killuminati by fall of '96, after No Diggity came out. That's why Makaveli's Toss It Up is similar to No Diggity....Suge orchestrated the it all, cuz Pac had no real reason to beef with Dre.

Suge was very jealous of Dr. Dre success, so it bothered him so much. He wanted to kill Dre. Suge signed 2Pac while he was in prison, so 2Pac got out of prison and went straight to the studio to work on All Eyez on Me album with Daz Dillinger and a few others who were affiliated with Death Row. Dr Dre produced a few songs from the album. They did the original and remix version for California Love with the late Roger Troutman from Zapp. Afterwards, Dre founded Aftermath Entertainment in 96’ during the year that he left the label.
