Pac wasn't dump & he knew he didn't sign the paperwork as a damn homeowner, so Pac had to know that home wasn't his, but many act like he found out later & was mad. It was opportunistic but it was beneficial for both parties. He wanted to get out by any means so he took the deal. Also Pacs legal troubles were crazy, so crazy that he couldn’t afford them. Which is part reason why he took the opportunity to go lay a verse for some $$ at the studio he got shot at. Suge was a business man & a tyrant BUT he did more right by his artist than any white label out there. Snoop owe that man his life fr fr. That man didnt have to do all he did for them

Pac was in a lot of trouble still, financially. He wouldn’t have made any real money until Makaveli records got off the ground. He was just 25, don’t forget that. Also, he kind of went backwards in his career (financially, not his popularity) after “Me against the world”. He had owned everything of his with his Joshua’s dream publishing and out da gutta records imprint. He didn’t have that anymore when he went to Death Row. His movie money took care of his family financially.

What Reggie is talking about is major label royalty rates which is why most old rap albums only had 10-12 songs. Labels wouldn't pay you after those amount of songs, you had to recoup it! Labels were foul as hell. That means early rappers were probably living way better then 90's, and later rappers, cause they didn't pay for samples, and they didn't do more then 10 songs, so, they didn't need to recoup that much But, does that mean most artists on Deathrow didn't recoup cause besides Snoop, Dre, and Pac, no other artists went more then platinum BUT they had way more then 10 songs Labels are some greedy suckers!
