@@sith062 albums. Strictly and 2Pacalypse. They were par, weak on the beats but his lyrics were above average. But that’s been a trend for most of his albums, beats that are dated or weak, but people have made remixes with more contemporary beats with his a cappella’s and they sound amazing. And others have said that Pac didn’t put much emphasis on the beats, it was just something to go behind his vocals, and when OP said Pac was serious about his music, I think he meant the lyrical content.

@TACTIKILLER I love lyricist and no the songs didn't have great lyrics. I looked forward to his debut album like most after his verse on Same Song (which is just okay in retrospect) and was disappointed with 2Pacalypse. I believe people were more interested in his shooting and going to prison than his music. All his success is centered around that. 50 Cent emulated this blueprint.

The friction between Snoop/Dogg Pound and Tupac when he came to Death Row sounds like State Property and Cam’ron/Dipset when they went to Rocafella records. Like Cam’ron, Pac already knew the business and came to Death Row calling shots. At that time, Snoop and tha Dogg Pound were at the label first and learning the business, like State Property when Killa Cam came on the scene. So like State Property to Dipset, Snoop/Dogg Pound felt a way about the “new guys”, Pac and the Outlawz, coming in making moves and disrupting their program.

Some say that Hype's kickoff video to his great music video directing career happened after he directed Wu-Tang Clan's "Can It Be All So Simple" in 1993 & if he directed the music video for Dr. Dre's "Lil Ghetto Boy" in 1992, that would have been amazing. At that time, for one visionary to have an East Coast & West Coast music video experience under their direction had to be all about ambition with hard work. Chris Robinson (whom Reggie mentioned) had a lot of success with music videos, he is from my hometown (Baltimore). Reggie could have been talking about Billie Woodruff, in reference to the music video director who he said went on to do work with the television productions, Empire & Power.

Cause listening to you talk about how great Dre and Pac were with directing videos and all of that, I would've loved to see how Death Row would've been had Dre stayed; and the films that Death Row could've created with Dre and Pac as directors/producers.

Pac & Snoop were like Shaq and Kobe. Neither one of them needed the other. But I don't think Snoop becomes a big star without Dr. Dre. Pac could take a no name producer and make him look like a genius. But if Pac lived, I could see Snoop having a longer rap career. Pac would've had a similar career to Kanye West where he would become larger than life and then Hollywood would've broke him down.

I disagree on Snoop being high on that MTV Awards interview as to being the reason he was quiet. He looked nervous like he had anxiety. If you look closely you will see him take a nervous swallow. I got the impression of fear, fear of being in a whole other state and fearful that if something were to go down they stood no chance. And I would agree with him 100 percent on that. You in someone else’s backyard causing ruckus and more than likely won’t make it out alive. Not to mention he did not have his Dogg Pound entourage with him to hold him down if things got cracking.

Yeah I fill you. That's what I thought too. But as I continued to watch, it seems like they were intimidated around Pac. Not that they were envious or haters but for real intimidated. I think Pac had that kind of impact on everyone. He had very high energy and most people can't handle that. Snoop is more vocal now. He's older and more mature. He survived a lot of drama. He did d*ck ride Nas that time saying Nas gave Pac and them a pass. Saying Nas and his crew had Pac outnumbered and could have violently ended Pac. But according to multiple other accounts and from even Nas himself, that wasn't true. It was evenly numbered and Napoleon from the Outlawz said it would have been a "bloodbath" had it jumped off because both sides had a lot of people and a lot of guns. I lost a little respect for Snoop for lying like that but I understand it's about staying alive and remaining relevant. And Snoop has done both, stayed alive and stayed relevant over the years. But I never noticed Snoop having any hate for Pac. But he was definitely intimidated.

DPG definitely felt some type of way about Pac even before the whole NYC event, and I don't think we have gotten the full story about what happened between Snoop and Pac and the Outlawz in NYC Judging by Snoop calling a meeting with the 20s and DPG when he got back to LA and all the LBC homies being pissed off at Pac and Suge. I've heard Snoop got touched up but who knows. C'mon Reggie clear it up!

Kevin Hackie said Pac started having issues with Heathrow around April of 1996,I was imagining to was around August around the time he sacked reggie and David kenner, so if thats the case then he was already likely started having some issues with the Dogg pound, people aren't stupid's can see the dog pound were stand offish and didn't like Pac telling them what to do, its like they felt Pac was trying to take control and take away their shine

Naw DEATH ROW can take credit for breaking and making but uaw can't touch the success of HYPE WILLIAMS, Hype was already working with RALP MCDANIELS from Radio Music box he started in a background capacity but worked his way into doing project they could not get to in a certain time period, He was under there umbrella.....

The envy goes both ways.. Pac needed Death Row to become the super star he became and admitted it himself. That star power Pac wanted came from the house that Snoop built. Let's not act like Daz wasn't a powerful producer that had his production mistaken to be Dr. Dre's work.

I believe to some extent they didn't like to take orders from someone who wasn't paying them. Especially in they eyes the "new" nigga on the label. But they was pacs homie prior to everything so they didn't trip they let pac be who he is . They also mustve forgot pac just came from a major label and making major motion pictures this is the experiences he picked up that became a part of him. They didn't they straight out the ghetto. Pac was in the game way longer than snoop And all of deathrow. But I also feel like they said fuck and played their roles but u can tell they didn't too much care for taking orders from pac during the set. U also have to understand they were on deathrow before pac so they already had egos. And for a new artist to come in a take charge, I feel they respected it but u can tell the grown man, celebrity, in them didn't like it. But u can also see in the footage that they were more gathered around snoop than pac but why wouldn't they be ? They grew up together pac was just a homie. The outlawz we're like that with pac
