Ahhhhhhhhhhh, yeah...... *melts* This is the type of song you listen to after a long, tortuous day spent with a veritable MOB of people trying to personally fuck with your inner zen. It just brings you back straight back to an even, happy place. Favorite lines, people? Here's mine: "You know what I am, so you know how I live. You try to look proud, BUT YOUR NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST! It's happening now and it's always been like this..... "

I don't particularly LIKE the singing, but I can definitely feel the emotion in his voice. This is the second song I've heard by them so far, the first one being Evening/Morning, and I'm liking them a lot. Each one of them is impressive on their respective instrument, and the music itself is wonderfully written. Bombay Bicycle Club: A+ band

If you research you'll notice that Ed joined the band later on... I don't know if before or after "Always Like This" was composed. Jack is the main songwriter and in one of the shows I asked him and he said he considers himself a bass player and explained that was the first instrument he learned and then he took on guitar and later on, the drums... I'm pretty sure you are mistaken.
@chrisrettig744412 жыл бұрын
The bass line is pretty impressive, no doubt. But I urge you not to overlook the fact that Jack doubles that same line while simultaneously singing.

@AccidentProneAndy i think the bassist has that style to draw more attention to Jack, which is a good thing because the guy is a genius!
@cyber.purgatory15 жыл бұрын
It's just sampled and triggered using some sort of response pad. It's pretty commonly used by drummers to recreate impossible studio/electronic sounds live. like the snare at 0:56, it's sampling an electronic sounding snare so it sounds different to his normal snare.
@KadlecSvk13 жыл бұрын
@OllyOfCydonia from 3:17 there's is something like the 3rd guitar but i don't see one, they have some things that play for them :)

@TheForeverCarefree what your thinking of the riff is also played by the guitar/lead singer you can tell that the bass plays the same thing but when he stops you can tell. and look at the guitarist hands, hope that cleared it up for you buddy.
