I don't think so. But amitabh instantly got connected with audience, he knew the pulse of the public. His role was also well designed that is why he stole the show. Just see in any multi-starrer films, he has stole the show. It is bad to say that he did something nasty. Be it sholay, ram balram, chupke chupke he just carried of so well that looked better than dharamji, see it any vinod and Amitabh films together, Amitabh was the best.

That way Amitabh was said to be an intelligent actor whereas vinod lacked something. That is why AMITABH BECOME GREAT. VINOD LACKED GOID VOICE , DIDNT SIGNED GOOD FILMS. PEOPLE WERE GOING GA GA OVER AMITABH. WHEREAS VINOD WAS DECLINING.
