Cat Door Update - Hi Robby and crew. We live in MD. About 30 years ago we received a gift of about 12 mostly kittens in our woodpile. Ultimately we built a cat door in our garage and fed the cats in the garage. This attracted many forms of wildlife including more stray cats. All of the kitties lived out their lives in our garage. We ended up replacing the door after they were gone. Just remembering.

You can install an outside cat door in that leads to the cat mansion, and then another manual door that leads from the mansion to the shop - that way if Bombi is out when you guys close shop, he/she can get back inside to shelter, but doesn't have free reign of the entire shop all night, and if there are any visitors, they also can not get all the way inside.

Being from the north, I'm very familiar with Bombardier and all of their tracked vehicles. If this machine works as good as it looks, it's going to make for a very quick ride and look good doing it. I’m 62 years old and retired and it would have been a privilege to work for owners like yourselves. Hey hillbilly I'm a mechanic with my own shop and I have found that if you take the door switch apart there are some small copper buttons if you scrape the corrosion off of them the switch will start working again this works 90 percent of the time when it's a switch problem and the costumer is happy when you save them the $150 cost of a new master switch

7:30 Colton I use my old wet shave horsehair shaving brush for dusting into difficult 'nooks & crannies', as we say here in Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.😉👍 Much quicker and easier imo than microfibre cloths, that I also swear by, are absolutely fantastic for everything else. I also use elasticated polythene shoe coverals, to avoid walking dust into places where I don't want dust walked into places. I'm pretty sure Robby can obtain these for you from eg Harbour Freight Amazon &c. Btw microfibre cloths, work far better if lightly moistened. Eg water spritzed on from a spray bottle. Fold them in half, then half again, to give yourself 8 clean sides to wipe down with. Turning it over between each side.

45:59 For Hillbilly’s Bombi cat invasion concerns, you can get cat doors with RFID readers that only open for collars with RFID tags in them. You’d have to put a collar on Bombi, but the door would only open for them and nothing else.

I installed my cat’s door 54” off the ground with a shelf on each side & another “step” 27” off the ground but 40” away from the door measured diagonally. This allowed the cat to jump up but kept raccoons, possums and most other cats out. I believe the adhesive on the “vinyl graphics” or dēcals is encapsulated in microspheres that pop and release the glue when you squeegee it.

For the door seals, if you have not already, I would recommend putting weep holes at the bottom and/or cutting the bottom as a separate piece. Cut the corners at a 45 and butt them against the side seals, instead of notching. Water will always find a way in with the notches on top and bottom and there could be issues with water getting stuck and freezing, especially with where the Bombi will end up going. Then the door might not close or get damaged if water freezes in the seals.

The upside to tint film on tempered glass: if the glass breaks, it holds most all the tiny shards to the film...a lot less to clean up.

Get the cat a special cat door, that operates on a small sensor or magnet attached to her collar. We had a dirty old Tomcat that was coming into our cat door and pissing everywhere. So I got one that operated on a magnet. It worked. It also had the added bonus of picking up all the bits of metal in the neighbourhood…. Cat would come home so weighed down some days. She came back with a small knife stuck to the magnet once!
