Of course, the Consitution defines the boundary (very roughly!) between the federal government and the states, so people like to call the USA a republic. Also, the Electoral College disenfranchises millions of voters because of the way the states implement it--winner takes all. So, for example, Republicans in states like CA might as well not vote for the presidency (and Democrats in states like WY might as well not vote). We need to fix that. The Electoral College was created by the Founding Fathers, a bunch of rich, white men who didn't want to lose power. It guaranteed, at least in the early days of the country, that rich, white men controlled the country. In fact, that still tends to be true because of the SCOTUS' unfortunate decision about campaign funding, in which they ruled that corporations have First Amendment rights. So, since you apparently are a self-described expert on the Constitution, what is your response? I'm not an attorney (nor, I suspect, are you), but I have a doctorate in physics and I paid attention in school.
