Love Eric Burdon & The Animals. They were part of the British Invasion along with The Beatles, Rolling Stones & others. People are always shocked that Eric has such a different unique deeper voice. The Animals had a lot of great hits in the 60's such as "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place", "Baby Let Me Take You Home", "I'm Crying", "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", "Bring It On Home to Me", "It's My Life", "Don't Bring Me Down", "See See Rider", "Monterey", "Sky Pilot" etc. Eric later joined the funk rock band "War" & they had a few hits "Spill the Wine" & "Tobacco Road".

Eric Burdon the lead singer is 83 years old now, and still singing.

Eric Burdon was 23 years old when they recorded this and 24 in this video (they're lipsynching to the 1964 single that went straight to #1 on the UK and US charts, knocking the Beatles out of the top slot.

All the British invasion bands seemed to love American blues and folk songs especially from the 1930s. This is a great performance by the Animals. I first started listening to pop music in 1964 and this song blew me away. It still does.

This artist and song I'm very familiar with, but any chance I get to listen to it, I'll do it. 😊Eric Burdon's voice is amazing. And if it's grit you love, you must check out Paolo Nutini. In particular, the song "Iron Sky" - the Abbey Road Live Session version. Another one is Kings of Leon's "Closer". Omigoodness!
