I love it when you can't immediately decide whether you like or love a song, and then a few days later something happens - the song, just by sheer chance, becomes the soundtrack to a memorable moment in your life and then instantly becomes a part of you forever and no longer does it matter your opinion of the art, because now that art has become a part of your story, forever - thank you bon iveR

some of my favourite albums are like that, a different song steadily rising to the surface causing you to continue being invigorated by the album
I think the way you have to listen to this album is pretty simular to the way you must listen to radiahead albums;discovering each melody and each instrument after another.

@matnukin15845 жыл бұрын
Why is it that on every Bon Iver vid there is a comment at the top that makes me cry? I mean, much of the lyrics are really cryptic (in a good way). I think that is one of the reasons I love Bon Iver. The lyrics are open for so much interpretation and yet at the same time are somehow really emotional. The feelings behind the lyrics are so real. I read an article about this song where it was hinted that Justin Vernon wrote this song about having panic attacks. ”It might be over soon” becoming a mantra to overcome them. I really can relate. After a burnout in a job I really loved (and still do) I developed symptoms of panic attacks. I changed careers, but the work now involves situations that really induce those kinds of symptoms. There’s no way of escaping them. For me, he only solution is to go against them and try to achieve my potential in the situations. This is so as to teach myself that I can do this. If I feel a panic attack is coming I’ll always use this. ”It might be over soon.”

What I understood in this masterpiece was that Justin can't find anywhere to be safe or anything to trust, and he's just about ready to give up. But that little hope in him is telling him "it might be over soon". Whether the thing he's talking about is a deity or not he's telling it "there I find you marked in constellations". Justin yearns to discover things "as I may stand up with a vision". But remember to him, it all might be over soon.
