India Love (one of the "kidnappers" along with her husband Jason Deibler) is my niece. She died on November 19th, 2023 at the age of 31. She was like a daughter to me. I miss her more than words can say. I am forever broken. We all are. She loved Bon Iver's music so much. She introduced me to them many years ago, For Emma, Forever Ago. We listened to that album many times when she lived with me in Seattle in her teenage years. Skinny Love is her song. I can't listen to Justin's voice anymore without breaking down completely. I remember her telling me about this "kidnapping" experiencing she was involved with at the Michelberger festival, she was so excited about what a special experience it was, and she was thrilled to be a part of it since she loved Bon Iver so much. Thank you Justin. I miss you India ❤🌻❤

Music helps me process and understand emotions and this song is wonderful and I thank you for doing this.

Love this in theory, but the way they filmed it shattered the illusion of intimacy. Her body language makes it clear that she's trying to be calm but she's put on guard or disoriented by the observation of a camera/cameraperson, instead fully present in the moment with just him. This, but filmed with hidden cameras (that she's told about later) could be really special, though.

disagree , well it depends on the person and how much you actually love yourself , if you are camera shy to bad you lost the moment ,but you should forget everything around you and just let go , maybe even dance , close the eyes , spread the arms ..well question is do you really love Justin Vernon music that much so it can make you let go in any moment, i know for myself i would be flying at any given moment in time

That isn't an appropriate question at all. Being an extrovert or comfortable in an unusual situation isn't a measure of your love for an artist. Have you never seen people freeze when they meet their idols? I'd argue that perhaps THAT is a more valid indication of how much an artist means to them.

He literally just figured out how to play a completely different version of this song. Or, he came up with this one first. Just wow.

Holy shit! Very cool that the artists engaged in this idea and what an amazing experience for the lucky ones who got to listen them.

Introduced this band to a girl, she introduced me to this song...I can’t say how I really feel about her because it’s not ok in the professional sense. This is like standing on a cliff. If I speak, I fall but the pain ends. If I don’t, I stay on steady ground but the pain continues.

L Y R I C S: Philosophize your figure What I have and haven't held You called and I came, stand tall through it all Fall and fixture just the same thing Say nothing of my fable, no What on earth is left to come? Who's agonized and gnawed through it all I'm underneath your tongue I'm standing in your street now, no And I carry his guitar And I can't recall it lightly at all But I know I'm going in Too much for me to pick up, no Not sure what forgiveness is We've galvanized at the squall of it all I can leave behind the harbour I will run all around it Have to crawl, Still can't stop it) Along the fires One more time just pass me by I'ma make it half the night Hall night wishes To walk aside your favor, I'm an Astuary King I would ask you where it came I'll keep in a cave, your comfort and all Unburdened and becoming I will run (Fill it all, fill all your run, you're running) Have to crawl (Carry off and I shall see) Along the fire (Carry off your fairly on, your fairy time) Now, Mona Baby, I've locked up my failures (You're on, you're on) Here and I've been the last to see See you laugh it off your fingers Was it all I could find?

Can barely even keep it together in my kitchen...much less sitting in a chair opposite JV...I wonder how the experience differs. Is this document of the moment actually more potent than the experience of the one? I'd wager it is their intention to create a moment that transcends the experience of the two in that room...

I've watched this video 50 times, then watched the album versions! this song in this state was why I was going to buy the album! Just my opinion but if feels more like heart. The upbeat songs with electronic are great, but sometimes we want to connect with your heart... like in this representation! .... if you release an acoustic album definitely will buy!
