Back in the day you could not escape this song. It was played EVERYWHERE. Usually Bon Jovi did not shoot "story videos" for their songs. But after the video trilogy of the Aerosmith songs "Cryin", "Amazing" and "Crazy" became a big success on music television in 1993/1994 Bon Jovi tried this too.

Some trivia for you... maybe you already know but anyways..... Jon is married to his high school sweetheart. He been married to her for more than 40 years. Not to say they didn't have some rocky times, but I think that speaks volumns about him as a person, especially for being a super rock star.

I'm 47 and I've been a Bon Jovi fan since the late 80's. I understand how fans stay loyal and hate to hear someone say something negative about their favorites, but yes what you said is true. Unfortunately from all the years of constant touring and recording followed by touring, Jon Bon Jovi did damage his voice beyond repair. He is still an excellent singer even now, but he can no longer hit those iconic high notes, and they even had to slightly change their sound because of that. None of this changes the fact that Bon Jovi will always be one of my favorite bands from any time and genre.

I could never live with myself cheating on someone. It's a betrayal second to none. Integrity and honesty are my 2 most highest valued traits in a person.

Ha! Drama!!! I don't know if they were at the time, but those two actresses in the video have done bigger stuff. The one with the lighter wavy hair, is Keri Russel. She had a TV show called "Felicity" in the 90s that was a huge hit, as was her hair, but then she kind of fell off the map for a while, but came back eventually, and got some critical aclaim for her acting. In like the past ten years, she had a TV show that I thought was so fucking good, called "The Americans", that takes place in the 80s, and a couple are Soviet KGB sleeper agents living disguised as regular Americans. For some reason people don't talk about it as much anymore. Maybe because the network it was on made a poor marketing decision and fell out of favor, but I think it was one of the best made TV shows in a very long time! The dark haired one is Carla Gugino. I remember her in an 80s movie when she was just a teenager, and she had a streak where she was in a lot of stuff more recently, but don't know if I've seen her around in a little while.

From 1994... it was a new song included on Bon Jovi's 'best of' compilation album 'Crossroad'... the music video featured 2 future major TV/ movie stars - Carla Gugino (the girlfriend) and Keri Russell (the temptress) This was a different Bon Jovi from the 80's era... the 90's had the band change in the 'grunge rock' era... become more stripped-down. (Late) Bassist Alec John Such was fired and Bon Jovi released a very mellow album 'These days' in 1995 (w/ bassist Hugh McDonald as a session player and live bassist - he eventually joined Bon Jovi full-time) and had hits like - "This ain't a love song"... 'Something for the pain' 🔥🔥 Bon Jovi was one of the few 80's rock bands that had platinum success in the 90's and were still selling out arenas... Still, for whatever reason (likely internal tensions between Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora) ...Bon Jovi went on hiatus after their 1995/ '96 tour... Jon Bon Jovi got busy trying to launch an acting career and appeared in TV shows and movies for the rest of the 90's before Bon Jovi returned in 2000 w/ a modern sound on the 'Crush' album.

This is the hardest one for me to listen to. On a previous bon Jovi reaction of yours, I mentioned that Jon, saying to my ex-wife. We were together for 18 years to the day, we are a little under 2 weeks away from 19 years apart. She met my replacement on the day we met, and this song continues to break my soul because I will always love her. I don't want her back, I deserve better than being cheated on, but she is the mother of my children and my heart will always break knowing that we couldn't make it.

Bisscutie, you need to go down the Aldo Nova rabbit hole! Aldo played some keyboards on Jon’s first album. Aldo helped Bon Jovi get off the ground. Aldo co-wrote some songs as I recall. I think he helped Jon with the Young Guns song “Blaze Of Glory” also. The guitar riff or something. Anyway, Aldo Nova is a musical genius! Aldo’s big hit was “Fantasy” but I’d start with “Ball And Chain” or “Someday” or “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You” or “It’s Too Late” or “Under The Gun” or “Heart To Heart” or “Victim Of A Broken Heart”.

You know, I was thinking that you should probably do some John Mellencamp now. He's from the same era as Bon Jovi. Not exactly the same vibe, but in the ballpark. When he was very young starting out, a record company, or whomever, thought it was more marketable if they called him Johnny Cougar, which he never liked, but he did get some attention under that name. So, I guess afraid to lose that, for many years when he was very popular, he was known as John Cougar Mellencamp, and eventually he was able to just loose the Cougar all together. Good stuff though! He has so many good songs, and was primarily big in the 80s. An early song he wrote but didn't have much success with himself, but Pat Benetar had a big hit with was "I Need A Lover (Who Won't Drive Me Crazy)" "Hurts So Good" is a classic that's a favorite of mine. "Jack and Diane", "Pink Houses", "Small Town", "Cherry Bomb", and much more. In the 90s, he had some newer good stuff like "Key West Intermezzo", "Peaceful World", "Just Another Day", and he did a really cool cover of Van Morrison's "Wild Night". I've suggested Van Morrison to you before, but that's another story.

Check out songs Have A Nice Day, All About Loving You, Born Again Tomorrow, Make a Memory, This House Is Not For Sale, Every Day, and One Wild Night for more modern Jovi. I listed all ones that have music videos! 😊 I'll Be There For You is one of the best ones from the 80s. Always is beautiful but the video doesn't suit it at all. Some of my favorite ones that don't have music videos include Complicated, Luv Can, Bullet, Who Would You Die For, Any Other Day, This Is Love This Is Life, and We Don't Run to name a few. 😂

Of course I saw this video in Latino MTV back in 1995. I've always wondered if I understood the narrative, so feel free to correct me: - Guy falls madly in love with brunette - Guy cheats on her with the blonde roomie. - Brunette runs away, is found by dude in his entrance. - Brunette decides to get even with dude, then gets cold feet and calls guy. - Guy shows up at dude's workshop, sees his nude portrait of her, goes berserk, she calls it quits. And this is the part I'm not positive about: enraged guy blows up (somehow?) dude's workshop, walks away and flees to Mexico as he is now an arsonist?
