I couldn't have set it better Doc. We all would LOVE to see Richie and Jon get back together and finish the rest of the bands life together. They were a POWER DUO together. They made MAGIC together on the stage. It feels so so different without Jon and Richie together as a team. Their brotherhood was amazing and us as true Bon Jovi fans there's nothing we would like more than to see them reunite. That would be EPIC. not only would it be epic but WOW it would take Bon Jovi to an explosive 🧨 level!!!

Doc McGee is a very interesting man to listen to. How he describes how all these bands are created and how they succeed. Bon Jovi will always be my favorite band. Motley Crue and all those successful 80's bands. Doc is obviously a genius for having all of these amazing rock bands that still today plays arenas since the 1980's. 74 yrs old and he remembers "every detail' from over 30 yrs ago. He is still on his game and his mind is not of a typical 74 yr old. Truly amazing!

Loved that so.much....went to my first Jovi concert in 87, I was 13 years old...I was hooked and have been to every tour since, including Jon and Richie"s solo tours....Bon Jovi for life😘

Love it! Same here. I had my dreams come true when I met the entire band for 2 nights of one of their tours. It was a piece of my life that will always be with me. There's nothing like meeting the band you followed since you were s teen to get the opportunity to meet them all once in your life. Since I was a teen I said how determined I was to meet them one day. I can see by our user names that we are truly dedicated fans to Bon Jovi!! 💗

Correction to doc the band played on every song but runaway,love lies was written by jon and david and others by jon and richie.and they played o. Them songs,till this day she dont know me is the only song not writen or co written by any band members including jon ,part of jons deal was to record that song,its a cover of a song recorded by donny and the crusaders and also a artists by pete emmit wh,om was orginally a disco act .bon jovis version is at least the 3rd version of that song,and hasnt been played live in decades.

Very interesting, I was there Ipswich 1985 met Doc at the hotel with the band. I was there as Ritchie offered to write a song for me and I was to meet him there as a business meeting. Doc was very much there for Jon, telling jon anything he needs he was there for him, I heard him say that to jon. Jon was quite a handful . Doc was there on the road. Doc was the real deal. 💜💜💜

Great discussion！Moscow was the biggest topic to me as well. Jerry, another tip. All bands stayed at Ukraine Hotel (now Radisson Collection Hotel) in Moscow at that time. Klaus Meine from Scorpions took a boat from this hotel to Lenin Staduim, and the lyrics of Wind Of Change is based on what he felt on this boat. Fortunately I stayed at the hotel in 2006 and followed the same route to the stadium.

Great interview! Very jealous. I would have SOOO MANY QUESTIONS for that man. I would love to know about the first time he and the band listened to Slippery for one. Did they know??? Ahhh, so much history of a band and music burned into my dambed soul. I will never forget hearing Bad Name for the first time. The Jovi's were 100% unknown in Australia. Bad Name was on a compilation album called "Summer '87" (3rd song on side 2, after "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins, ironically, ARCHER is my very favorite TV show), which was in my stocking, Christmas '86. The song stuck out to me. As I had the tape and not the record, there was no pictures of the band or album cover (album or single covers were always on the back cover with name of the song), so I had no idea what they looked like. I remember specifically picking the record up to see what this Bon Jovi looked like. The album cover really caught my eye for some reason, too. I told my sister to listen to it (I was barely 10, she was almost 14) but her reaction was a "meh". Cut to April, 1987. As always, we were watching "Video Hits" on the Sunday morning and a "new video" came on. It was just a silhouette of "hair", lmao, my sister's eyes went wide. She fell in love from the silhouette (well not really, she was a closet case homo, like her little brother). By the time that "Livin' On A Prayer" video ended, damn, we were awe struck. She had a school excursion a couple of weeks later and she (and all her friends!!) bought Slippery. I am always embarrassed to say that she bought Slippery that day, were as Europe's "The Final Countdown" was bought for me. She got home, we put Slippery on the record player, the oh-so iconic intro to "Let it Rock" started and she said "that's enough, I am going to the shops with my friends". I took the record to my room and listened to it about 5 times over. Bon jovi have been my favourite band since that day. I remember having $10 on my 11th birthday (1 August, 1987). We were out shopping, it was a Saturday morning. As usual, I was at whatever record shop was in whatever shopping centre mum took us to that week. That week on the sad 30 minute "MTV" show we had on a commercial TV station, had a BJ Special as their tour was being promoted for the following month. They played She Don't Know Me, Runaway and In and Out of Love. I ended up at the "ROCK, B" section as the Fahrenheit was sitting at the front. I picked it up, looked at it, put it down, picked up.... I remember saying to my sister "what if I buy it and it sucks? It is a waste of $12.99". I ended up buying it. I had no worries!! I listened to it over and over, I was in love! "It's better than slippery!!" First time "Tokyo Road" and "Hardest Part Is The Night" played...wow! Took me another two months to buy Bon Jovi, which again I played to death and loved more than Slippery. I wish i could tell my story of getting New Jersey on CD for Christmas '88!! Ahhhhhh, hard to believe so many years have gone by. I wish I had $1 for every time i have listened to the first 8 albums... Richest man in the world, I would be. On 4 November, 2024, it will be 35 years ago I saw the boys live in sydney for the first time. "The last gasp of Beatlemania" is what Jon called the Australian fans, haha. In '87 AND '89!!

Heard motley crue was the only sober one during that time,id be drinking as well if i was on a plane for 12 plus hours,dave snake joked it should of been called make a new drink foundation.sebastion was drinking vodka .russia is well known for its vodka .plus sebastion openly admitted to loving the ganja.doc and motley got into a fight because bonjovi had pyro and they were pissed,and they ended up with a new manager.plus sebastion was completely shit faced and doc,was not happy about that.boys will be boys i guess,plus doc,got busted for pot charges and smuggling and he organized the moscow festival to escape charges😊. 16:53

As a long long time dedicated Bon Jovi fan. I am a Bon Jovi snob. Sorry not sorry but I could care less about bass guitarist Hugh McDonald playing in the band. He does NOT look right with Bon Jovi. He just does not fit the part at all. When they take band photos he looks like the black sheep of them all. I'm so upset Alec & Richie are the missing pieces of Bon Jovi. 😔
