Great information. You’ve helped me a lot. I just purchased the PWR129. I’m 6’7” tall and 360 pounds. Love the stability. Easy to paddle. Took it on a 5 mile river trip last night. Easy to control and performed very well for a fishing Kayak.

Great video review Andy…New Sub. Your number 1 Con is also my only problem with my Bonefide SS107…it is SLOW, especially when attaining upstream. I got my SS107 three years ago to fish my favorite freestone river in East TN for smallmouth. I have spent well over 1,000 hours river fishing in this kayak, so I have some experience with this particular model. Apart from the difficultly attaining, this kayak is a dreamboat to fish from…it is stable, can handle class 1 & 2 rapids, has an exceedingly comfortable seat and a well designed platform layout. A quick question for you…would the Nucanoe f10 or U10 be faster than my SS107? Attain better than my SS107? Thanks

U10 is a big upgrade from the F10 in my experience. For rivers though, check out the RVR119

PWR129 is definitely a value for what’s initially provided: built in rudder system, and specifically designed to make wiring for motors etc fairly easy. I had a heck of a time running wiring for my Unlimited. Tack on the cost of a rudder system as well. Good video.

Bonafide was actually my first choice to purchase when upgrading from a entry level HooDoo 20 tempest-P, But 2 things just were a deal breaker for me. 1.) the peddle drive, to raise it is kind of a pain if/when you start to run aground having to remove that cover and re-align the prop before you can lift it from a shallow water situation I had a lot of situations with Hoo Doo as Its the exact same set up. 2.) the entire rudder system the from the steering control back just seemed to flimsy, I preferred the flip over beaver tail style which provides more effective steering and less prone to damage. Even the lower budget HooDoo had a better rudder. In my opinion the Bonifide design is almost the perfect fishing kayak if they would address the pedal drive and the steering situation. I went with the Old Town 106 PDL for the 2 reasons stated above. If Bonafide and old town had a baby it would be quite the fishing machine!! As usual nice informative content! love your channel.

Good overview of the company and their products. But there is so much out there that you have to weed out the cheaper ones and consider the mid to high end ones, then weed out the more expensive ones and keep the middle of the road price so to speak, then look at the ones that seem to get the most bang for your buck and offer a future growth in the boat itself.. I was leaning towards Jackson and Hobie at one time, and a few others, but Personally I am leaning towards them and NuCanoe now. Before it is over with, no telling which one I would purchase lol

Great video, as always. You forgot to mention as a PRO Bonafide's Limited Lifetime Hull warranty, plus their industry leading warranty on their pedal drive (5 years).
@thebeardedpaddler8 ай бұрын
5 years on the hull against wear and tear. The lifetime is against defects or factory error. Still a great warranty
@josemirles45958 ай бұрын
@@thebeardedpaddler I didn't know it was 5 years against wear and tear. That is fantastic! It really is a great warranty.

3:51 disclaimer……if you plan to put both motors on the kayak and tournament fish you won’t be allowed. Even though they’re designing kayaks to safely handle both these tournament brands aren’t moving off of it. I still feel like a stern mount with pedal drive is an advantage over every other kayak on the water BUT I cannot comfortably use a pedal drive kayak. It’s unfortunate they advertise these kayaks to mount up 2 motors but van you from tournaments.

Hi, Andy. It's Marion (Ladd) again. I asked about choosing my first kayak between Perception Outlaw or Bonafide SKF117. But you did a video on RS117 and I think it is the best of both worlds for me. Remember I'm only going to be fishing maybe half the time and recreational padding looking at birds and wildlife the rest of the time. For that use is the RS117 more maneuverable than the Outlaw or SKF117? I just really fell in love with the Outlaw features. I'm planning on getting a high quality Bending Branches paddle for best performance.
@thebeardedpaddler8 ай бұрын
I won't out maneuver a SKF117 but will paddle better than the Outlaw

@thebeardedpaddler thanks that's helpful. I rewatched your SKF117 video. I'm listing the three side by side in columns with pros and cons. I'm leaning towards the SKF117 again. Has Bonafide come out with a foot peg kit to add on the track mount?
@horvathszovatiandras59598 ай бұрын
@@marionladdwilliams5003there is a foot controll instal video on bonafides site for the skf. You can use 4 90degre mounts from yakattack to install it on the rails.

Man any kayak that gets you on the water is a nice kayak. Once you grow out of it and can sell and upgrade

Pelicans are great. You’ll want to upgrade eventually, but it should last you several years and land you plenty of fish. Once you do upgrade it’ll be a great loaner for a friend.

If you were planning to get into kayak fishing, would you say Bonafide or Native? There's options from both that I am interested in. But from a brand quality perspective and customer service, who is the winner?
@bobbyhogan92078 ай бұрын
OMTC for either bc that company does a great job of standing behind what they sell. You might want to be sure to stay after em but they will come through. Really look at what you want to use the yak for, then pull the trigger. I have used both brands and they do what they are designed for. Contact Andy directly to answer your questions 👊😎
