Blackpack. Use the t slots on the sides in the rear, weld angle to the sides of the black pack and you have a lot of adjustability. Plus room for extra terminal tackle underneath. Common sense.

One of the things I've seen on other reviews or guys who have them and just provided an update, is that the plastic holder inside the turn handle, comes out and locks the steering up. He super glued it back into place and did the other side as well, but that's something that should be addressed at factory. Maybe it has by now, i don't know.

Thanks for the review great points. It’s so hard to find information on the p127 still. If it were your money, would you be spending it in the Native slayer max 12.5 or bonafide p127

Why does so much water come in? Does it pretty much feel exactly like the ss127 just with the pedal drive instead of the dry pod
@OneObjective2 жыл бұрын
It’s mainly the hull design. It does get some water In it. To use it feels less stable then the SS127. But that’s us. Some think it’s about the same

Thank You very much guys. It looks like your Assessment is spot on with the P127. There are a few not so great things and a few great things like most all kayaks have. The one thing I do 100% agree with you guys, if your into carrying a lot of year and really rigging out your boat in regards to tackle storage, Track Mounting options and so forth, this P 127 doesn't seem to be that great, but It also not that bad it's a about a half way house in that category. Front Hatch is Awsome, Deck Space seems plenty good enough plenty of underneath seat storage hull shape and stability and turning seems great. The rear tank well is pretty darn small that I do agree. I think this will be Perfect for someone who doesn't go crazy with Loading there yak out, and of they just have to get creative with Rear Tank storage. My Slayer Max 12.5 is so much bigger as you both know compared to this for sure, and has more Storage Options and mounting Solutions for Accessories like Electronics and yakattack products. But I do love the Front Hatch on the P127. And I like th Looks of it, the Rudder dropping down and coming up most likely just had to be Adjusted it it has that ability. I'm personally a Native Watercraft guy, which I know that Bonafide is now apart of th Native Line. So I trust that it will be a well made Kayak, it'll just have some good and bad points like any kayak does, as you stated there is and will never be a perfect kayak. I believe the Bible Pro Angler have the biggest Storage setup out there, period, but, they are a Heavy Heavy Kayak and Extremely Expensive. Way Too much that I'm willing too spend, but that's just me. I dont mind spending $3k -$3,700 but close to $5k that's way too steep for me and loaded out your approaching $7k-10k. Can't do it. But to those that can or if I could I would, but my family comes first before I lay that kind of cash down on a kayak. So for me a a Slayer Max 12.5, or the New 10 Max, a Titan or this P127 will do just fine. I've already decided that we are going to be picking up one of these for my Family and it'll do just fine. I think Bona fide / Native did a great job with this one. Thank You guys and looking forward too more products that youll come out with for this model 😎👍👍

Awesome review. I agree that the rod holder needs to be changed. I can see a rod tip breaking. I do not like the tank well molded to hold a specific type of gear. I was trying to figure out why the scuffer holes are on the padding instead of being on the deck to allow water an easier route to drain. It's a nice kayak but I will stick with my SS107.
@jholl73393 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the honest assessment. While I agree with the shortcomings you guys point out, I also see opportunities for you to create products to alleviate those issues. Maybe sidetrack offsets, that bring the tracks outward a bit, to alleviate the rod to track interference? A taller steering handle, lessen that interference (I know there are already afterwarket ones for the Natives). Ketch Board end saddles that allow the board to drop in between, that'll sort of encapsulate the ends, keeping the board in place? And, regardless, first thing I would do is cut down thos rod tip protectors, to get rid of those snag areas. Of course I'm just writing this 10 minutes in, so there MAY be things ahead, on the video.
@OneObjective3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. And you are right. We have a few products in mind. That we think we be some helpful products for the P127

@@OneObjective Cool! I'm SUPPOSED to get one of these. Don't know if that's still happening or not (It was a contest prize. Long story.). As far as the rudder, a simple bungee may be in order, to add some "pull" to aid in it dropping. Surprised there ISN'T some assistance, there.
@robbiehampton64503 жыл бұрын
Nit Pickin? No, it's those "little" things that annoy the crap out of you while fishing. I have the NW Fx 13, and I love it BUT, it has the same steering the P127 has and the seat interferes with the handle. I modified mine so that it doesn't go under the seat and in doing it's not in line per say. My rudder does NOT retract, I upgraded to the Boondock rudder, BUT it's too big and got bent during a portage. I also transport my kayak on a truck bed rack, the rudder gets in the way trying to load it if you're alone. They discontinued the Fx 13 and the P127 will likely be my replacement in the future. Great review guys.

Seems like it’s basically a native with a bonafide logo on it. Reason I say that is every video I’ve seen of natives I always see water in the deck of the boat especially when a person is standing. The review mentioned the same thing.
@justincurtis97473 жыл бұрын
It’s a Native mold all day long (own a native 10.5) hence the thicker plastic and is going to weigh more as the specs state. Bought the SS127 and love it for many reasons. It would have been better to keep the same plastic original to Bonafide and find a creative way to add a pedal drive. Also, Native keeps putting plastic steering handles and you going to have to eventually replace it, especially if you upgrade the rudder which you will find sooner than later that you have too. And, adding a trolling motor will definitely you will need to make the upgrades. That’s a Native seat, it’s uncomfortable by comparison to the Bonafides. This is nothing but an uneventful way for Native to satisfy Die hard bonafides owners for a pedal drive. It’s a native 🤷🏻♂️ Great Review by the way, I was really hoping Bonafide will stay true but Big Adventures may change all that.

I also have an SS127, but I'm seriously considering purchasing the P127. I hear what you're saying about the Native, which is a great fishing kayak, but the hull on the P127 is completely different and the rudder is also not the same. Pedal drive seems to work well, so why change it. I know they had to change the seat because your ass would hurt peddling with the SS127 seat, so it's a bit wider now and they got rid of that bar underneath. Looking forward to their speed tests on it.
@justincurtis97473 жыл бұрын
@@nj_angler_kjb from what I’ve been told about the process of the build, it’s the same as the native with the exception of the design. It’s less wide than my native, paddling a 100 lb kayak… I don’t know about that. In part the reason I do not like my Native is having to paddle in shallow water, the drive gets in the way. If your looking for a Native less wider and may track better, perhaps this may work but don’t buy if your looking for a kayak with the bow mounted trolling motor, it doesn’t make sense. A new kayak should be in part if not the whole reason should be to answer the market’s demand and “do better” of an issue. This is not it. It was a simple quick and cheap fix for those who are Bonafide fans to have a peddle drive kayak. I’m not sure this solves any issues Native has with their current design. Get a Native and you will have the space mentioned lacking with this build. But slapping a Bonafide name on the side doesn’t make it a Bonafide, it’s a Native.
@nj_angler_kjb3 жыл бұрын
@@justincurtis9747 It has the same drive as the Native. Some similarities with the seat and rudder, but hull again is not the same. Can't go wrong with either choice. Oh and I'm not adding a motor on, just want to switch over the the pedal drive.
