Very nice video about top things to do in Bonaire. It brings back many good memories of my visits to this beautiful island. The water there is very clear and has an amazing turquoise color, great for diving.

Bonaire is on my list.I’ve heard it’s beautiful and less crowded than the neighboring islands. The windsurfers were cool! So many of them! I, like you, would fall over and over again! I can’t even paddle board. I love how colorful the buildings are!
@TheAverageTourist3 жыл бұрын
Yes it was far less busy than Aruba and Curacao. It's a very colourful island too.

Lac Bay Bar and Grill looks like a great hangout. I too cannot handle hot sun for too long! Neither can my husband...haha. I would love hanging out at the beach to watch all the windsurfers. Souvenirs are totally my thing! Bonair salt would be a lovely and useful thing to pick up. The salt flats and the slave huts are a must visit, it is important for visitors to learn the history behind the salt trade on the island.

I agree. It is always important to learn the history of a place you are exploring. OMG I would love to be on the water right now! I love a nice quick tour when you are only somewhere for a short time period. That is great that there were plenty of tours lined up right outside of the cruise ship so you didn't have to look far. Looks like a cool place to visit! Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a great stop for a cruise. We'd love to see the salt flats from above and up close as well as the flamingos. Also the windsurfing seems like a fun activity to do on the island there but it seems like a very difficult activity and requires a lot of prior skills and knowledge. Glad you were able to get some salt from there and enjoy the city center and local market!

We've never been to Bonaire, but have been fortunate enough to try some of the salt that Jamie's mom picked up while visiting. It was really good! Glad to see you were able to get some too.

Do you know if you can fly a drone over the salt flats? Shade is always appreciated on a Caribbean island! As a surfer (used to be, anyway), Wayne wants to try wind-surfing...but that looked like a crowded place to do it. Do you use a lot of salt in your cooking or eating?
@TheAverageTourist3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about the drone - you might be able to do a small one but the wind is so strong there I think it would be very challenging. It was very crowded in the bay that day. I don't use it in everything, but I enjoy larger flaky salt - I pass if the only option is table salt.
@GoTravelOnTheCheap3 жыл бұрын
It is almost always windy every time we try flying our drone, no matter where in the world we are! Yes, that "real" salt is enjoyable on a few things...

We were here 3 to 4 years ago and place was teeming with iguana, lizards, birds and fish. I was shocked to come back to so much over development. You can see the impact. Few lizards and fish have been impacted. Sad. When driving you see construction site after construction site. Reason why St John's is so beautiful. 2/3rds of the island is park land. Aruba was not a place I was really looking forward to however I will say the beaches and the entire place was packed with lizards and sealife. Would be a real shame if Bonaire just turns into one big condo and housing complex
