A daily episode of Bonanza should be made compulsory in schools, then, perhaps, today's generation might feel that 'entitlement' is less of theirs by right. They could do worse than starting by adopting the motto, 'One more spade of dirt'.

Unfortunately, some of the Christian churches of our world have been the most gentlyr acist in some ways. 20 years ago, I overheard a Christian church teacher teaching her young students about how we should go with people who have the same skin color. Other than a few negative doctrines, most Christians do strive to love everyone.

Interesting how it took mavericks to break the taboos open before mixed marriages were gaining traction, such as Marlon Brando in epic War movie, in the '60s. Only on the Bonanza and with the loving touch of the Cartwrights.

I didn't know that other minorities weren't allowed to marry different groups. My grandma told me about segregation for black people but I didn't think it affected other minorities. I never understood the concept of racism to begin with. Guess because I grew up wanting to know people from the inside because most people judged me on the outside of which left me very lonely Thankfully I now served in Taiwan. I don't know if she's just will ever bring someone for me to marry he did say it a few times when I was praying but I'm 42. Although I've never had any marriage proposals it doesn't bother me.

Not realistic, Hop Sing worked as an indentured servant for a woman named Shelby who owned and ran a saloon/eatery in Eagle Station. He was her cook before Ben Cartwright bought off her claim on him. She treated him like dirt and so did the rest of the town, he would have known about the racism in the US.

@@dellphiavillars3772 No, Ben couldn't take them somewhere else to get married because it was against the law to marry as an interracial couple. The judge stated that and what would happen if they tried. I'm sure a Chinese wedding could not have taken place in that time era either. I'm sure the Chinese would not allow him to marry a Caucasian woman.
