Ben telling Little Joe and Hoss about the Major trying to fly and in season 6 episode 20 called The Ponderosa Birdman, Hoss tries the same thing to help an inventor. That women didn`t scream when her father was shot but only when the bank robber fell. that makes sense..lol..

It takes 3 Cartwrights to pull down the balloon. He put a hook onto it to hold it down then tells the guys to let go... And when he walks away you can see there is no tension on the rope with the hook and loose rope again at 23:15

Sergeant Hines had the money bag over his shoulder in the balloon...I think we're to assume that when Adam shot him and he fell to the ground, the money bag came down with him. That's the best I can come up with.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️
