This is my second best episode after Springtime. It's funny, it has all three brothers, the two old timers are meaner than snakes, no shootings and most of all, no dead fiancées. Just a perfect episode.

These values are all wrong. In the 1860's a good horse was worth about $120, not $400. You could even buy land at the cost of $3 to $5 per acre. Farmhands earned $250/year and general labor earned 10 cents per hour, or $300/year.

This my favorite Episode along with Ponderosa Matador and Springtime. However I have watched all 431 episodes so many times and noticed loads of things but one thing that makes me upset is Adam always throws things on the floor in the lounge. From matchsticks, to stones to food. Pa told Joe off enough times for putting his feet in the furniture but never told Adam off. I just wondered if this was a Pernell thing and wondered did he do this at his home too! I certainly would tell him off if he was my son.

Patti Mccraw. That is not correct. The actor who played Trapper John on MASH was Wayne Rogers. Adam played that character on Trapper John MD
