I agree 💯 that Hoss was one of the best people that believed in peace and love and had not a mean bone in his body 😊
@tgriffin3059 Жыл бұрын
I think this episode was a zenith of sorts for Hoss. No matter how angry he got, or how hurt he was, he still couldn't stand by and watch a man die without trying to help. That image...of Hoss, struggling to support the man's weight, even with other men trying to force him to let go...even after being shot...is about as heroic and as noble as anything ever seen on a tv set.

@@andrewturk6562 I think Leon means these kinds of events are common and routine in the lives of the Cartwrights. Every time one of the Cartwrights gets seriously romantically involved with a chick, the chick ends up dying from an accident or a murder, or just plain sickness. And every time Sheriff Coffee catches a prisoner, the prisoner or one of his accomplices hits him in the head and knocks him out. Sheriff Coffee has let untold umbers of prisoners escape from his jail. It's really a scandal. Congress should hold hearings about it.

Loved this episode. Hoss all the way. He was hilarious they way he was jawwing Joe. "Too cheap to go out to town and buy bullets. You can hang on to a dollar longer than anyone I know". The below belt wit is so unlike Hoss and that makes it even more hilarious. And good to see how he dealt with the conflicts in his mind. Sure wish he got in with Cameo though.

This was a very illuminating episode, not only was Hoss right about his pathetic friend he was right about the girl as well. And yes she lived however she also is gone, in a different sort of fashion. The writers are very creative, amazing how many different creative features these writers invent coming from an older western drama, irony, tension, slap stick violence, love, hate, confession, and finding the truth about a person at his, or her dying moments.

I remember this episode and it has always bothered me, when Jim was hanged. and they were able to get him down before he strangled to death, how in the world did he die? Unless he was shot while he was struggling on the rope, but I didn't see any evidence of it. And you don't just die from being hanged, if once they cut you down and you can still talk. That was possibly the stupidest ending ever. Why when seconds before he'd been so mad at him for lynching his brother he was willing to lose everything just to see him hung a little sooner, why all of the sudden would he risk his life to SAVE him? And all the other guys there why would they risk their life to save him, and why would the guy just stand there and let them slowly pick up a gun and shoot him? These Bonanza endings so often seem to involve mass temporary insanity as a plot convenience, but this one really takes the cake.
