Great episode Jeff! As an autograph collector myself, I can appreciate how hard it is sometimes to get a genuine signature. Especially nowadays with a lot of fakery going on, the upside being that they have autograph shows now where celebrities on the downturn of their careers sign autographs for money. I haven't acquired any in that way yet, but I have just about gotten passed the the whole I shouldn't have to pay them for their autograph when I already have supported their work. Nowadays I'm more like if they're hurting for money bad enough to sit at a table selling their autograph what's the harm in paying them for it? 😊 Anyhow, great episode and hope you do more like it 😁

As a child, my Dad owned a Appliance store, and we had the first color TV in our town. The whole neighborhood would come into our house to watch BONANZA, in COLOR! I am now 69 years old, and about 15 years ago, I became very close friends with the man upon whom the NBC TV show, THEN CAME BRONSON was based.. His good friend, Denne Bart Petitclerc, was a writer and Script Consultant on Bonanza, and he created High Chapparral. Denne also wrote the Treatment and created, THEN CAME BRONSON, based on my friend's adventures. I still watch Bonanza every day, sometimes twice.

I was a fan! My 92 y/o Mom still has it on the TV during the day! I'm a big fan of Virginia City when I visit my brother & SIL in Tahoe, but sadly, the Ponderosa house was demolished before I ever considered seeing it.---My Son helped plumb the renovation to Dan's spouse's home 2 years ago. He saw family photos while in the house, and because of me, he knew who was who! However, he never let on with the crew about the celebrity home they were in...totally verboten to mention sensitive information like that. Living in a relatively popular celebrity-rich area of California, he's also had contact with many, but being the nice kid he is, never gushed when dealing with folks who just wanted to get on with daily routines w/o fans crowding them.---I've met a few well-known folks during my nursing career in Albuquerque, but never to get signatures. For my part Jeff, I love your stories...all of them.

Growing up in 1960’s Germany Bonanza was one of our favorite shows. “Westerns” were a very popular genre at the time. We would gather in front of the TV set every Sunday afternoon to watch. Considered to be a “Straßenfeger” (street sweeper, as in empty streets due to TV programming) it was one of those shows we never missed. I visited the Ponderosa Ranch sometime in the 1970’s or early 80’s after moving to California. They offered tours of the ranch, not sure if they still do. Virginia City is a beautiful place worth stopping in! You’re a regular autograph hound, Jeff! Great episode, thanks! Brings back wonderful memories!

I had the pleasure of meeting Pernell Roberts in 2006 with a friend of his that wrote for Have Gun Will Travel. My mother had been in the hospital and I went to my old job at the Henry Ford estate.Because they invited me for lunch and Pernell Roberts was walking around the house of Henry Ford. I ended up talking to him for quite a while and his friend and he ended up coming to my home in Dearborn, Michigan to visit my mother because she had cancer. So he came up to my front porch and chatted with me for a while. But when he found out that my mother was sleeping, he did not want to interfere. I didn't know at the time until after. He told me the story that he had had cancer, and I understand he died of it. One thing, I'd like to let you know that he told me that he was friends with Dan blocker. Mr. Roberts was a very kind man to me and the thoughtfulness of him coming to my home;Just to visit with my mom. I thought was very nice. I also collect autographs. I have several of Betty White.

Betty did a signed sketch of herself for me and it was pretty good!

I heard of Bonanza but it was also before my time 😅 With Michael Landon; Charles Ingalls the good father of Little house on the prairie. 🥰 I grew up with that tv serie and have all the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder. How lovely and special; the photo of you as a young father with your baby son 👶🏻 and Michael Landon! 😊 And I enjoyed this episode! Most men indeed get more handsome when they grow older. 😉

Jennifer Landon is Michael Landon’s daughter. She plays Teeter on Yellowstone.

As a kid we were at a motel in Palm Springs and sitting by the pool was Lorne Greene. Nobody bothered him allowing him peace and quiet.

That is such a cool encounter! I wonder why he was there at a motel and not living there in Palm Springs.

I was a little kid and at the time hadn't seen Bonanza yet. I didn't know him from Adam (no pun intended) This probably was '59 or '60
