Jeff, thank you for sharing this wonderful video! My family loved Walter Brennan, especially on "The Real McCoy's" and when he made some record albums, my parents had to get them all. We also watched "The Rifleman" & when it can out in reruns, of course we watched them too. The children of today have missed out, for my generation grew up with TV, The Baby Boomers, and when my sister & I get together, all we watch is reruns, even tho some we have seen it seems like hundreds of times.

I love history and looking at old photos and comparing them to current ones. I especially like seeing people who worked and spent time in the old photos. It makes it real somehow and to see the fashions etc. I appreciate now the people who took photos back then to document a building for history.

I loved "Room 222" & part of the reason was because I was in High School from 1971 thru 1974 when i graduated on May 29, 1974 from Morrow Senior High School, Morrow, Georgia. I remember Karen Black in "The Great Gatsby" & my English class got to see the film. Too bad about Bobby Driscoll. It seems that too many young people get hooked on drugs & alcohol & end up committing suicide or die from the abuse that goes with it many times. Jeff thank you for sharing as I doubt I will ever get to California to see them myself.

Andy Williams had met Claudine, when he noticed that pretty woman, trying to change a spare tire on her car!...He stopped to help...he married her, and they had a couple of kids...Claudine dec ided to dump Andy...ironic, it seems, that eventually SHE was gonna get dumped by Spider!...Amazingly, Andy W illiams did comfort her after that trial...I think he likely did that, to show solidarity to his children. I think Claudine was just another narcissistic "gold digger", who could not face the fact that she was getting older, and less attractive.

I have always loved cemeteries, even when I was very young. My dad and I and my brother would go walking through the cemeteries. All in the Sierras are any towns where we would be on vacation and that continued for the rest of my life because there’s so much history there And you get to meet people through emotions by reading the epitaph they have them I lived in Oakhurst with my daughter for four years and we visited that cemetery in Oakhurst and the one in Mariposa many times and I always learn something new and we could actually see the cemetery in Oakhurst Church from our house my daughter actually lived in Oakhurst for about 10 years and before that they lived in three Rivers so we’ve done a lot of exploring and going to cemeteries throughout that area. Bodie is one of my favorite ones Aurora acouple times. With Virginia cemetery a few times and now I live in Tennessee and there is a cemetery on almost every corner where there’s a church it’s overwhelming to go to a cemetery anyways I love your channel and everything you’ve done that I’ve watched I’ve really liked and thank you

There was a mining company in 2012 that intended to reopen both the Idaho Maryland mine and the Empire mine but the local ranchers complained it would drain their wells. Even though the mining company promised to filter the water and pipe it to their ranches it was eventually shot down

@14:55 My old friend Julian Imsdahl lived in that green house (it used to be white, then blue, now green) with his father back in the day. He was a singer/guitarist/musician who had a local band called Legs On Earth some 30 years ago. I had another friend who was commissioned to photoshop a new paint job onto a photo of it when it was still white and the paint was all peeling off ~23 years ago. Grass Valley is my hometown, my old stomping grounds. It's changed a lot over the last 40 years! I've walked by everything you've shown here hundreds of times and never gave it much thought. I haven't lived there in over a decade but my mother lives downtown and we visit her a few times a year. It's always a strange feeling being back there after having spent years running amok around town for so long growing up. Thanks for sharing it with the world! :] PS: My mom lives in the green building right next to the Washington Brewery building @19:55

@@jbenziggy I remember 3 rooms and GL room my sister took, a small room. I remember watching Hogans Hero’s as soon as I got back from Somerset school. I remember dancing at Somerset School dance to Rod Stuart’s “Tonight the Night” I remember playing Saturday night fever at the house over and over again. I clearly remember going to the theater in Modesto and not being able to see the premiere of Saturday Night Fever because I was too young. I was so upset because my cousin got in and had to hear him tell me about it! When we moved I took the old mail box out front on the main road where we took the bus to school. It had “Lucas” on the side and was faded. We moved to Lodi where I started my first year High School at Lodi High. I think the mail box I last saw was in a barn where we stored everything on Acampo Road.

@@jbenziggy I also have another interesting adventure for you guys. It’s called Gardner Army AirField, Taft, California a World War 2 training, airbase where Chuck Yeager got started. my dad trained as a World War II pilot at the same base and I have all these written letters to Home, to his parents. Picture of him in his pilot uniform while in flight school at Gardner Army Airfield Taft, California West of Bakersfield it would be interesting to see what’s left of the, former WW2 airbase. I can send you copies of the letters and pictures

One of the advantages of being born in 1955, was I grew up with watching what some would call classic TV. Many of the people you visited, I remember & those who were born beginning with the 2000's, missed out I believe. It's like what my sister & I remember about some of our close relatives have passed & my sister's grandchildren were cheated, as they were born after these died. Jeff, thanks for sharing!

A mine SHAFT is vertical, best use "tunnel" for general purposes as that can be any inclination. A near horizontal tunnel is a drift or a tunnel, NOT a shaft. 19:17 a lathe. Used to fabricate round machine parts.
