Bond director John Glen recalls working on 1949 classic The Third Man.
The clips are from John Glen: Bond & Beyond, our new documentary that takes a look at John's incredible 75 years in the film business and assesses his extensive contribution to our popular culture.
From being an uncredited second assistant sound editor on Carol Reed's 1949 classic The Third Man to Gerry Anderson's Space Precinct, John has over 80 screen credits to his name. But he is best known for his outstanding work on eight Bond films, directing five, more than any other director.
John takes us behind the scenes and shares unique insights into an impressive list of a films and TV productions that he's worked on during his career, including The Wooden Horse, The Admirable Crichton, 60s TV series Man in a Suitcase and Danger Man, and landmark films such as The Italian Job, Superman, Shout at the Devil and The Wild Geese.
John was second unit director and editor on three Bond Films, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Spy Who Loved Me, on which he directed the iconic Union Jack ski-jump sequence, and Moonraker.
Producer Cubby Broccoli then promoted him to director and for a decade he led the artistic direction of the franchise, directing five Bond films in a row, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill.
Release date to be announced soon
