Was about six years old, when German TV during the early seventies had first aired the four Miss Marple movies, always at tuesdays in the early evening. Still remember how my twin sister and me sat before the televison in our pyjamas, with a cup of hot chocolade in our hands, and without even understanding the plots and twists, just enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the movies, Ron Goodwin's earworm music and of course Margaret Rutherford's unique personality and acting talent. While the end credits rolled, once again with Goodwin's earworm, we were being sent to bed. And without any exaggeration I can say, Margaret Rutherford was my ideal grandma, that I ever wished to have, but actually never did, because both our grandmas had died before we were born, and thus we had to grow up without such a wholesome experience. Even today as an adult man she is still my ideal grandma. Kind regards from Germany !

Still watch the episodes and films when on TV, Just a shame and sad how Jack in the show spent his final few years skint and at melt down.

I remember an episode of "Yes Minister" where Derek Fowlds delivered a line that near cracked me up. (17:00) Derek was describing something that was basically nonsense so he used the line, *"a consignment of geriatric bootmakers"* then translated the phrase to *"A load of old cobblers!"* A dry delivery that, as I said, near cracked me up!

Bob Grants accent was so convincing, I was shocked when I heard him speak for the first time as himself. Sad what happened to Bob after on the buses ended.

They all seem so alive, but all gone now sadly. It was hardly Shakespeare, but it was funny.

I only wish Wolfgang Preiss was in it, like Anton Differing he always plays German officers, could’ve been in the Ferdy Maynes part.

In his charming autobiography Roger said he was very proud of the film, and having just seen it I can see why. It's well-directed, with a fine, unusual performance by Moore himself, and the ending is as haunting as anything from that spooky early 1970s era. Enjoyed your chat!

The bravado and innuendos back then was tame and hardly enough to raise an eyebrow but today the comedy is shock, horror, swearing and smut. Those were the days of quality entertainment that was family viewing and sadly much of today’s comedy is post watershed. Bravo to the guys that laid the foundations but a shame that today’s comedy has to get so personal to get a laugh. RIP Reg.
