I wouldn't really worry about it being too masculine; it's one of those scents that really adapts to the wearer, like Grand Soir does. It's not a must buy and there are others on the market that serve the same function :)

If you like the lavender/coffee combo, Amethyst Haze from Carolina Herrera is also really good. It’s part of their confidential line so it’s niche pricing, but the quality is also nicer as well

And finally someone is talking about Toskovat!!! Back to the coffeeshop: Roucel obviously know what is doing even with limited budget. Kudo for recalling the lavender in Musc Ravageur. To date, I am still undecided if Roucel's masterpiece is the over-hyped Iris Silver Mist or the undervalued and dismissed Dans Tes Bras (have you smell the latter?, so incredible!) my skin absorbes too much this scent profile with coffee, caramel, tonka, vanilla...but I recently bought La Rhapsodie Noir by Dusita: completely balanced and classy. If you have any rec for coffee scent, please do let me know. Great review as always. keep up!

@@SeldomlyOften the one I was referring to is a reather easy wear, spicy gourmand scent, to some extent. But it does paint a quite realistic coffee image to me. Café Cabanel is the name, if you get the chancel to sample it. And ... well, the perfumer is Cecile Zarokian XD

And since you've dipped your nose into Toskovat, which I'm looking forward to watching reviews of, I got another recommendation from Romania: Călaj. Specifically, I had the chance to try Gymrat on my skin and I found it to be very peculiar, unlike anything else I ever smelled. 6:56 interesting. It's either subjectivity or it has been changed somehow. I for one can't smell the coffee in a lot of fragrances that has coffee in the notes (for example polo red intense, Kilian black phantom). However when I had a bottle of new haarlem back in 2012, I remember the coffee being very prominent and strong. Like a black coffee. Very hard to miss. I have watched several other reviews of this fragrance recently and nobody mentions the coffee being a major player, they all just say it's pancake and maple syrup. I definitely need to sample this again to see if it had changed over the years
@SeldomlyOften2 ай бұрын
I might have changed, I think it was discontinued at some point and then brought back. The best coffee forward frag I tested is Follow by Kerosene.

I've totally ignored Bond n.9 as I feel the fragrances are really random looking. I can't draw a connection with any collections they have. I need to sample them. Speaking of sampling, have you smelled any Clive Christian fragrances? That was another brand I ignored, but I tried the entire collection recently and I was surprised to find there are 8 fragrances I'd consider full bottle worthy for me. I love their style. The prices though....... lol

Yes, most Bond n9 feel random and generic, I looked into purchasing something many times but was always really underwhelmed. CC seems cool; the only one I sampled on video I didn't really like (Crab Apple Blossom), was really generic but some other I tried off camera were quiet good!

I think you re grossly under estimating this brand...amazing quality, staying power, projection, sillage, beautiful scent profiles and awesomely balanced ..u spent a lot of time in this video talking about the weird bottle or cheap cap, thats all white noise, really, once you apply the juice..as a niche collector of 20 some years I find this brand rather authentic and good quality..value is amazing if you purchase from established discounters like Jomashop ..they have some absolute master pieces, like Dubai Gold,Dubai Signature, Dubai Citrise, Riverside..great in every sense..and couple others..unlike that overhyped overpriced Mind Games brand for example..give it a shot and second look- and you ll discover a grossly ignored Niche brand you ll love..Bond No.9
