Another extremely interesting discussion. One of the most commendable part is the restraint Kunal Sen showed on commenting deeper on the art form of Mrinal Sen but analyzed him as a person with great balance. It is intriguing interesting and to me a deep discussion on personality. One of the extremely interesting thing Mr. Sen has commented is about the festival entry of Indian cinema. I love watching Malayalam cinema but after couple of scences I surely can predict my experience of watching the film as there is no surprise. But still today when I watch great old Bengali film (other than Ghatak and outside famous three) I get surprised time and again. For an example when I watch Parineeta (I am great fan of simple romantic film) I get surprised with so less effort by director to create a phenomenon relationship between Lalita and Sqmit Bhanja character. It is so surprising but so deep. Also the balanced analysis of politics thinking behind Sen's third phase described a son's great respect to his father. Son do not have to psychofancy to respect renowned father. Once again thanks a lot for this and as always filmkopath is great compacting interviews. Hope Kunal Sen sees this message. My respect and regard to him.

I forgot to add another point. I grew up with a view that Mrinal Sen is close to communist party and I was very biased against him. In more matured age I understood his value beyond politics. This interview broke that myth also. His films are better understood now on his personal context.
