I'm a week into nose breathing. I can now run without my lungs seizing up. My sinuses are much improved and less stuffy. I'm working on taping my mouth shut at night. Very grateful for this knowledge. Just bought all of McKeown's books!

Can't explain how mouth taping works, but it DOES make a difference! So glad I overcame my fear of it and gave it a try. Patrick, you have given me tools that work - I'm almost 68, with lung issues... Since discovering you I'm feeling better than I have in years - nose breathing and mouth-taping alone have been huge. Also, practicing slower breathing - one of your vids said something about 6 breaths per minute - at my Dr's office they register my respiration rate @ 22 breaths per minute on average, but at home I have no problem doing only 6. Interesting what you said about swimming and asthma - about the pressure, there's something to that for sure - I found that applying pressure against my diaphragm upon inhalation did something positive for my breathing. Also noticed that the deeper the exhalation, the higher my o2 saturation rate. I am so glad to have been divinely led to you, Patrick. God bless you.

Thank you so much for your kind words @auntiemsplace, Well done in over coming your fear and on your excellent progress so far! It is amazing the difference nose breathing and learning simple breathing exercises can make to a person's wellbeing. Patrick has been fighting to make this more well known for 20 years and we are happily starting to see change for the better. We also have a new free OA app coming out this week which will make it easier for you to plan your exercises. Regards, Ronan.

Very interesting. I agree totally that breathing through the nose helps filter dust etc and protects your lungs, and slows down breathing. I've started doing the breathing exercises. Thank you. I managed to cure my dog allergy with my daily smoothie. But I was working for a friend and the chemicals I had to use and she smokes brought on a Asthma attack. Smoke is smoke at the end of the day. My poor daughter has to inhale toxic vaping fumes at the bus stop and in the bus depot. It's made her Asthma worse. We all have a right to breathe clean air. You would think after a Pandemic that hits the lungs the people in power would not allow this vaping abuse, but the NHS Healthcare promotes it. We now have a vaping shop in our small town. Bonkers. As a child I had to fight to breathe in rooms full of smoke with Asthma because Doctors, Scientist's, the Media and Governments all promoted cigarette smoking as harmless. Now thanks to Education my family kindly smoke outside. We are Dyslexic. It's the Education system that is the problem. Not us. ♥️🦋🐝❤️

To be honest there is so much confusion out there.... The WHM has made people aware of the breath but very few know when to nasal breath and when to mouth breath as a stressor exercise and there is so much conflicting content out there.... I'm definitely lost 🙏
@OxygenAdvantage
@OxygenAdvantage Жыл бұрын
Great point @jamesgoing4527, In simplest terms, try not to mouth breath. Try to nose breathe pretty much all the time. During rest (e.g. watch TV), at work (at your desk), if you're out for a walk or sleeping (oxygenadvantage.com/product/myotape/), try to nose breathe. The more you nose breathe, the better. If you are doing high level exercise and feel that you need a mouth breath to stay on track, then do so, but return to nasal breathing as soon as possible. Our new free OA breathing app will make it easier for you to follow the exercises and make a breathing plan that suits you. Regards, Ronan
