The fires late last year and early this year were an absolute nightmare. It got to the point where the sky being orange and everything being in a grey haze was the norm. And I saw it rain ash more than I saw it rain at that time. I was constantly on the verge of having an asthma attack when I stepped outside so I stayed inside constantly. Everybody was anxious and stressed and worried. That was the air you constantly got. And everyday I was frantically checking the map online to make sure all the people I knew in danger areas had made it another day. To go straight from the hellish six months of bushfires to COVID-19 was horrible. Kudos to all the incredible lifeguards and firefighters out there. Here's hoping this summer is not as bad.

Oh, yes, the fires at the start of the year were terrible. I'm in New Zealand so the smoke blew over and it was so strong (both physically and it smelt terrible too) so I can't imagine how it must have been in Aussie. Hope you are thriving, and well x

Yes.... in the spirit of serving one another yes, but- We need ALL trades and jobs. We need farmers and ranchers, or no food. We need textile and factory workers, or no clothes/blankets/cloth things (flame retardant firefighter coats included). All kinds of manufactured goods from rescue boards to sunglasses to medical equipment and medicines. We need vehicle manufacturers and mechanics and oil refiners, or no ambulance, fire truck, or personal transport. We need retail folks to run stores to sell us those necessities: groceries, hardware/homes improvement/ pharmacy We need carpenters, painters, framers, plumbers, electricians, etc, or no place to live. As unpopular as it is, we need (honest!) lawyers and judges- or no settlement of disputes or metting out of justice. For that matter, all manner of political leaders. ( we just need them to do their jobs well) We need computer and tech people to help us communicate remotely and fix stuff when it breaks. Honestly, We tend to idolize public servants like firemen, doctors, police officers, lifeguards, but the truth is, almost every task is crucial. Even the most “trivial” tasks exist b/c there’s demand for them.- people want the goods or service offered. (like KZbinrs can only make a living b/c we watch.) It takes a community to be a community. No one is truly self-sufficient. Even if your job is merely being a good friend to someone who needs it, it’s important. We weren’t meant to be alone, we need each other. More than that, if you know Jesus Christ, you have the joy of doing *whatever* you do for the glory of the God who made you, and knowing what’s done for Him counts for eternity. That’s pretty awesome!!
