I love this channel! But I think love locks are just crappy wasteful trash that ruin the bridges and pollute the river. You go to someone's country and attach a love lock where is says NOT TO DO IT! There are signs all over the bridges theat say not to do it. The city has to pay people to cut them off. Then throw the key in the river? So many people do it..it's not original. Boring and stupid so just stop. Just stop doing this gross and wasteful testament to "love" it's just garbage.

@@mariebelladonna437 hi, MZ is an old company and were located in East Germany I believe after the war. That particular bike they pulled out,will most probably date from the seventies or possibly early eighties, as they made the same model for a number of years.

Did they say anything what they do with the stuff? In Germany it's expensive to get rid of waste. So when you find broken bike you have to pay for it to let it go to recycling.

Most of the stuff is left for the city's garbage disposal folks to get rid off. I imagine in this one the only thing he might have kept is the cool key. It was nice to see the French couple's main purpose is getting rid of pollution. I'm often surprised Lee (Leigh?) doesn't talk more often about cleaning up the rivers & canals. Instead he talks about 'treasure'. His thrill in the hunt is infectious.

Suggestion: A simple A frame at the edge of the wall with a tether and pulley to allow it to lean over the water a little would allow you to lift a motor bike with three people instead of 11. Most of the force you enlisted on this exercise just pulled against the wall not lifting the bike.

Well it's much easier to get the assistance of 10 people than it is to create a frame

@@zen4realfightman426 A triangle (A frame) of three pieces of wood about a metre long could be reused lifting any heavy treasure. The inefficient dragging of the rope on the edge of the canal wall has been demonstrated over and over so it's a choice of smart v lazy. O.S.

Yes, more passers by joining in is more fun but the ropes would last longer, the result for effort would be better and some of the frustration of lifting could be minimised with a small piece of hardware.
