Super fun! I also noticed the different accent pattern in the last few measures, but it's not a huge deal. I like how most of your material isn't crazy hard or DCI level, but it's still challenging enough for a beginner or someone who is super out of practice (like me by about a decade), and passing the time on quarantine here in 2020. Thanks!

@@ATLDRUMACADEMY Unfortunately the percussion sounds are from a separate 3rd party VST. The default Sibelius sounds aren't that great. If you mean to record your line playing the piece, that is fine by us! Also, we love your work and what you are doing for your community. Keep up the awesome work. I wish the kids in our area had something like this growing up.

I like it! It's not INSANELY hard but it's also a good challenge for a beginner/intermediate player and learning rudiments like this. It's fun but also a good lick to learn

Hi! I hope this isn't too late. We have a couple of our exercises posted on our website. We do not currently have a PDF for Bonds, but we have the 4k PNG on our website for this piece. I hope the PNG could work for you! www.drumstr.com/bonds

In general this is how we would recommend going about learning a piece. First play through the whole piece, finding your trouble spots and seeing the different twists and turns the piece takes. Then either start by working on the spots you had most trouble or start at the first measure. Either way we recommend before taking big chunks, to take it beat by beat, adding on after playing the beat the correct way several times. Once you finish one measure start with the first beat of the next. After you finish the next measure try to play both together. Then do the next two measures, then play the first four. Taking the piece in chunks and gradually taking larger chunks. When taking individual beats make sure you focus on sticking, technique, heights, and anything else the piece or proper playing might entail. Eventually you’ll make it through the piece, and can bump up the speed little by little. Always start slow. Side tip: If you feel like you can’t break a speed gap, try bumping the tempo even further, take a few reps, then bring the tempo back down to what you couldn’t play before. It will seem a lot slower and easier to do. I hope this somewhat helps!

The biggest thing is the rhythm... of you can get the rhythms down perfectly the fluff with kinda find itself. So get comfortable with rhythms, and then add stickings, accidentals, etc. 🙃

some of the accents that were played did not fit the music?

Thanks for pointing this out, can you comment the time stamps so we can find where exactly you mean? A measure number and tempo would do as well. Thanks!

Our bad, we were experimenting with a different accent pattern and changed the final version for the video, but forgot to change the audio. What is written is how it should be, hopefully the accent mistakes don’t throw you off too much.
