With my bone graft.. blood was taken from my arm and added to the graft. I wasn't even told what the material of the bone graft was or if I had a choice.. These days it's like don't ask any questions--just do as I say.. after all I am the oral surgeon.

I had a bone graft 6 months ago on tooth # 9 and the site underneath the tooth where the membrane was.It is still dark red. Is that normal ? Anybody can comment if you have the same experience. Thanks.

Facts. I am in tech and make great money. My dad has been blue collar worker his entire life. His doctor never brought it up. I made an appointment for him with my dentist so they would discuss it with him. His dentist said nothing.

how long do I need to wait if I have an abscess that needs to heal after the extraction....is it better to let the abscess and the inflammation heal after the extraction before getting the bone graft? I just had a badly infected root canal with an abscess pulled today and have been given lots of antibiotics and even steroids for a week before getting the bone graft......But I feel like I should wait longer.

Hello Did you heal within a week or did you wait longer? my wife had a root canal 6 months ago now she has an absence so today they are pulling it out.

@@cruzrv I think it's better to get it pulled after an abscess as soon as possible cuz' it means that tooth is not salvageable anymore. Unfortunately, after marriage ving to Canada, dental care was no longer affordable for me (whereas in my home country, it is easily payable out-of-pocket). So, I had to wait like 5 years before I was in a good enough financial position to get it pulled and replaced with an implant.

I have a question. I'm getting braces and I needed teeth removed because of overcrowding. Can the teeth shift into the empty spaces after bone grafting? I'm kind of worried about that because I've seen that bone grafting helps people to get implants but I'm not trying to get implants. It would be great to know!

@@redcat9436 Where exactly do they get the cadaver bone? From desperately poor countries where diseases like Tuberculosis, Polio are common? In the U.S. you can donate your body to science but I’ve never heard of selling your body to dentists before so they can cut up your bones and use it for dental implants. I was suspicious about this so I did a web search snd sure enough, there have been cases when people for infected with diseases from cade er bone that wasn’t sterilized properly.

Where exactly do you get this ‘Cadaver Bone?” From desperately poor countries like India? Somalia? Democratic Republic of Congo?? I’ve read about infections people have gotten from Cadaver Bones! Tuberculosis for instance is common in these desperately poor countries. When someone in America donates their body to science they’re not donating it to dentists so they can use their bones to make a profit!
