I honestly thought her hair was real at first and thought that she was one of the lucky ones that didnt lose their hair to chemo but then they suddenly took it off to reveal that it was a wig and my heart sank 💔 im so glad that she made it through and that shes doing well

You can definitely tell it's a wig when looking at it you can tell it's artificial hair. It's to big and alot thicker then normal hair. It looks like horse hair .

Everybody is different but, in my experience, hair loss during chemo is one of the least important things that happens. I hated wearing a wig and much preferred going natural. My four year old granddaughter has alopecia totalis and she rocks her baldness. I’ve bought a couple of wigs for her and she likes to play dress up with them but like me, she doesn’t enjoy wearing them for a long period of time because they are hot and itchy. She has amazing self-confidence and we treat it as just a normal part of her life and her looks. Of course, I worry about other children being less accepting when she goes back to school, but there are children’s alopecia organizations like Bald Girls Do Lunch that provide excellent resources as well as a song/video called “Alopecia Girls” which is bald-positive that she and her little sister like to watch and sing. Reducing the stigma around being bald and fostering greater acceptance in our communities will benefit all children with medical hair loss from alopecia, chemo, etc. and help them feel like regular kids rather than being seen as a patient, or worse, a “victim” of their situation.

So excruciating how these little children have to go through all of this. I remember being in a health center as a child with my parents for minor issues unable to fully understand what the doctor was talking about.

Triciana faatiliga My MIL used to say that if everybody put their troubles in a hat they would pick their own to take back out. No matter how fortunate somebody seems from the outside, they have troubles that you don’t know about.

Poor Poor baby 👶 boy 😢 I really thought he was way too young to be having a MAJOR Eye Operation 😱 if I was the mom I would have waited till he was at least 6 months old.🥴

Unfortunately, children who are born without vision need surgery to have it restored ASAP (usually after 1-2 months) because the brain still needs to learn how to interpret visual cues. If the surgery is postponed too long, the outcome (aka the child's vision) will be much worse.

Didn’t he get donor corneas? Sometimes you have to act as soon as that’s available.

I can kinda-sorta relate to what the little boy went through. Although my eyes aren't as bad as his, I still had to go through two eye surgeries (One when I was 2, and the other when I was 7). I'm 16 now, and could possibly have more surgeries in the future. For those of you who want to know, I'm nearsighted and farsighted, and my left eye crosses in (I forget what that's called!) I've also been a member of the "thick glasses club" since I was 18 months (I think). ;)

I urge everyone who watches this to consider registering to become a bone marrow donor at bethematch.org. There are many, many people who don’t have family matches and who die while waiting for a donor. Autologous bone marrow/stem cell transplants are not an option for many people and it’s very rough on the patient to go through extensive, aggressive chemo to get “well” enough to do this.
