I like it. How much for a hammer forged blade comparable to this Bone Splitter?

what I like about your knives is that they look like fantasy knifes but not like the cheap ones you can find at a flea market. you blades are build like tanks.

John, what was the story on you being ask to leave a show? I thought you were going to do a response video.

They 'might' not know! ;) You're right though -hammer forging actually damages the steel and this needs to be corrected through thermo-cycling. If you do your job well, then the steel is only as good at the end; as it would have been if you'd just gone the stock removal route.

Come on guys you know hammer forging does not 'Refine the grain". Grain refinement comes from proper heat treatment.

With that said -it IS a nice knife though! :) Although the blade looks suspiciously like the Laredo Bowie, one of my all time faves... Didn't Camillus use to make the old, Carbon V blades for CS??? Sure there were bare blade to be had on ebay for a while when they went bust -maybe John got a load of blanks off em?

Consider makeing blades for the average working man and the average working man will consider buying a custom blade. Until then make posters of them that kids can hand next to the poster of Rocket in their bed room. Ps tell Rocket she makes me feel like a sixteen year old again. LOL

Why do you guys spend so long on the forging, the leatherwork, the cool crusada(?) and the nice handles. But then put a hollow grind on the thing?! To me It seems that all that hand made quality is a waste when the blade itself seems neglected, as if it doesn't matter what grind you use, so long as there is a skull on it somewere.

What's wrong with a hollow grind?
