I love the video T-Bone! I like how you said things like "my opinion" and "my 2 cents." You're not telling people what to shoot, just giving your information and your opinion. Shoot what YOU like! I'm a Magnus fixed blade guy. I don't shoot expandables anymore, not because someone told me to change, but because that's what works for ME. This clearly works for you! Good luck this season Bone Collectors!

This why I love the bone collector crew! They never push a product. Meaning they never say "if you don't shoot G5 you won't kill a deer". They tell you what has worked for them. These guys are awesome and their techniques haven't failed me yet. Great video T-Bone. Good luck this year!!

My daughter and I harvested two bucks this past Saturday shooting these out of a Ravine R29X. The wound channels on both were ridiculous! I am now stockpiling the 2" Megameat broadheads because frankly, I can't see a better design out there now or in the future. Coupling 3 strong 2" blades with a solid chisel tipped body is a deadly combination! My hats off to you T-Bone for helping design this broadhead. Job well done💯

Those dead meats out of my crossbow absolutely ruined a doe I shot earlier this season. Thing went in a perfect broadside shot then hit bone or something and bounced out of the back through all the guts. Blood trails sucked too especially because she had her guts hanging out of the wound clogging the hole stopping blood from coming out. Couldn't find her that night in the heat so the meat sat and got ruined. Had to track it for a few hundred yards. They pre-deploy constantly in ur quiver too so you're always having to snap the blades back into the collars wearing them out so u have to buy new ones. Idk maybe I'm doing a little more walking around and scouting than most ppl r. Those bpms r nice though for getting it sighted in and I appreciate that from a broadhead company since most companies don't think they need to give u a practice head anymore so u ruin perfectly good broadheads practicing and have to buy more which is a smart little hustle. If these work right though I can see them being awesome broadheads. That exit hole was ridiculously huge. Entry was smaller than my Nap fixed blade hell razors and I'm sure that's why the blood trail sucked besides the exit being clogged with intestines and guts. Don't think they do well with bone at all and once u use them they're no good anymore get all clogged up with viscera hair and whatever else. Even with replacement blades (because mine got all bent and ruined) they wouldn't be worth it to much hassle and I wouldn't trust it.

I shot the mega meat broadhead into a buck this year with my 70lbs RX4 and the blades did not deploy. I have been a montec shooter for as long as I can remember but when it comes to mechanicals I prefer the t3. I think if G5 was able to come out with a slightly different collar that allowed the blades to deploy with slightly less pressure I would try them again.

Not concerned with other people's stories as to why the won't shoot certain broadheads. Im never changing what isn't broken. Had a question. I shoot a 55 pound 26 draw. I have been use rage for years. Would I get more drag out of 3 blade. Like the dead meat. I'm shooting a matthews traix
@joeymurphy56174 жыл бұрын
if you try a 3 blade, i would recommend a Grim Reaper Fatal Steel 1-1/4” 3 blade for your setup. if you’ve been having success with the Rage, why switch? in my opinion 55lbs and 26” is pushing it for being able to use mechanicals. to be honest with you, if you can find you some NAP Bloodrunners, those might be a bit better for your setup than Rage. or even some G5 Striker Magnums. those are fixed 3 blade but they’re 1.5” cut. you get the reliability of a fixed with a bigger hole than the 1-3/8” Grim Reapers that i use. 2 issues with a big fixed blade like that though. 1, they can easily catch air and plane off but i’ve been told that can be tuned out. 2. more surface area. large broadheads create drag in an animal. that can leech penetration. not as much as a mechanical but it will still leech a little penetration.

70lb draw weight is always better but if you’re pulling say 60lbs-65lbs and are able to get at least 60lbs of Kinetic Energy, you should be just fine with a small Mechanical like a 1-1/4” or 1-3/8” Grim Reaper.

More surface means LESS Penetration-The problem which Mechanicals of all kinds no matter how many blades is they Never for me once in 12 years have gotten full pass through and I shoot 70lbs. If ANY Branches and I mean any even a thorn bush tiny branch gets in the way then u are completely and udderly fucked! And if the Mechanical hits the animals and goes hits a Bone u are Completely fucked where a fixed blows through all that with Zero Problems. It took me losing 2 giants because of this and 12 years before I realized I have been fucking myself bc I’m addicted to the Giant holes and they never run far. Of course as a man we naturally want the most damage broadhead upon entering the animal but u need to think further ahead than that. U want Giant holes and u hunt field edges with nothing in between u and the deer then ok as long as bone isn’t involved u should be good BUT if u want CONSISTENCY no matter what Fixed is the way to go. Situations and consistency are everything in deer hunting big Pope N Young bucks

My uncle has had two bucks not leave a blood trail (recovered both only 50 yards away) with his mechanicals. Excalibur Boltcutter’s shoot nicely with my xbow. I tried the G5’s on my bow but I don’t like how they’re flying. So, Im going to give the Magnus a try along with the Ad Exodus to see which ones I like more.
