Yeah, get the OG and save the extra grand for something else like a virus Ti-1 desktop or something. That’s what I did and don’t need the GR-MEGA. I’d rather have those two vs just having the one. Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely interested in the MEGA, but the GR-1 is still an amazing instrument. It’s like wanting a Digitakt and all of a sudden Elektron comes out with a Super Digitakt for $1500.

@@vvcv__00 in some ways yes, but from what others have said about Octatrack, the experience is much different. I suppose the Mega is probably similar in that aspect. Then again I’d have to find out for my self to really know. I plan to one day take that challenge on. All I know is the Digitakt & GR-1 are more then I’ll ever need. They both do amazing things.

The granular algorithms here are second to none, and it looks like the user interface really facilitates performance, improvisation, and experimentation. My only hesitation is that, as a studio-based user, whether it adds enough to the huge number of software granular and other sample players I can easily access on my computer. Yet I keep coming back to listen and watch demos!

@@jonirischx8925 Falcon is usually my first port of call. The IRCAM granular oscillators are very nice, if hard on the CPU. Halion and Omnisphere both sound great. As an effects plugin, I tend use Delta Sound Labs Stream. It isn't the most powerful, but I do like the clarity of the sound.

@@jonirischx8925 I am a granular heavy artist, and my top 3 are Output Portal, Sugarbytes Graindad, and Arturia EFX_Fragments on Mac. I use quite a few iPad granular apps as well. Although, I'm moving to hardware for granular with the GR-Mega and Oddment Audio Groc. I will be happy to finally work with physical hardware, as I have never taken a shine to working with VST's like I have working with hardware.

I would like to hear a toned down just synth demo of this unit if it's possible, not so syfi or glitchy. I want to see if it can mimick the library sounds of some famous synths out there. to the point were it can stop the synth search.😂. I believe this will have no problem pulling off .😎👍
