Bonfire Night in Blackpool: The Cricket Club

I bring you a video from the amazing bonfire & firework display at Blackpool Cricket Club on November 5th. The annual event, first since 2019, attracted people in their thousands. Blackpool Cricket Club is situated at the northwest end of Stanley Park.

Great stream Stephen The Fireworks were excellent Obviously Blackpool Won the World Firework championship with this display, the other countries were not close. Loads of people there Stephen all those Fivers. Let's hope with all this Climate business Firework Displays are not a thing of the past. I remember going to the Stanley Park Fireworks in the early 90's when the Health and Safety elves went mad. To mitigate the risk of people being burned by accident, a massive display screen was put up which, on the night, displayed a burning bonfire. And to simulate the heat from this bonfire simulation, hot air was blown towards the crowd. It had to be seen to be believed.

At our bonfire, where we were downwind from the fire, we were just told to wear a cowhide leather jacket and heavy denim or real leather jeans to protect us from the embers. After the organisers went home, guys (and a few girls) were jumping through the knee high flames to show off their heavy boots. It was so funny when one of the girl did not seem to know that synthetic leather jeans melt. Fortunately she realised before they started sticking to her legs.😃

We went one last night and they were determined not to use any diesel ect as it was done by the council lol after an hour of failed lighting 3 suspicious men behind the back with very large containers lol and like magic it was lit lol save money people go to a safe event not these crap you buy at home
