@easygoing247911 ай бұрын
@@beaumob Those statistics mean absolutely nothing without parameters. For instance, there may be 250 million gas fueled cars in the U.S. compared to 2.5 million EVs. That means on US highways gas vehicles outnumber EVs approximately 100 to 1. If your 0.3% and 1.06% stats refer to # of reported vehicle fires compared to _all_ fires reported, I’m afraid your EVs are about *thirty times* more likely to roast than an “ICE” car. All statistics need qualifiers and parameters. Oh; “ICE” cars combust _internally,_ within the engine’s combustion chambers. EVs combust the garage, the house, nearby cars and property, transport trucks and even ships at sea. And they are a firefighter’s nightmare at an accident scene.

Yes, the "green" options are far worse than standard automobile....electric is instant torque which is fun, but terrible for the environment.
@Kacpa2 Жыл бұрын
@@jmmx69 EV are not really fun at all where it matters. For zombie driving on a trip maybe, but not by any enthusiast car metric. Instant torque is nuce but mostly utilitarian. Its as boring as most modern turbo "sport" suvs. It just dull and needlesly violent on your passengers if you show off like a monkey. Real fun is in entertainig feedback-rich interaction with the car and the sounds you can make it do. This is the best in naturally aspirated manual sports cars, but even old pedestrian cars can be incredibly fun in that aspect. Ofcourse in case of cars from 70s it can get tiring on a long trip. Hence something slightly more balanced would be ideal, but even since late 90s manufacturers overcorrected this bs 'refinement', safety and nvh focus that they eradicated all the fun that could be had while driving. They effectively engineered out the fun to a point that vast majority of supposedly sporty cars are mkre boring to drive than corolla from 1991. Which is just ridiculous. And with EVs it even worse and they just keep heading that way. For this reasons automotive hobby will be just dead in few decades.

That is not what an electric car fire looks like. It looks like the fire from ANY diesel-operated car has gone beyond the ignition phase and moved on to the interior. My main reason for coming to that conclusion is that none of the fire comes out from the floor area of the car. If it would have been an electrical car fire it would have for sure. Also regarding the area. I doubt that there is any charging stations close by, so the risk of an electric car to catch fire is close to zero.

What's worse is auto won't cover your house burning down or same fight over manufacturers defects and what most people don't know is that a battery meltdown is just as dangerous as a nuclear meltdown. No amount of water or foam will put out battery fire, you would need to cover it with sand and the fire would turn it into a glass shell just like US nuclear reactors If they meld down the fuel rods drop into a special concrete vault that melts over top sealing it off.

@Liams_Fraser_island_adventures... Just look into the legal battle's homeowners are having between their homeowner's insurance and auto insurance. The only EV manufacture I would trust is Tesla but with that being said look at all the problems in northern states just because it got a little cold. Battery tech is like PC tech, your tier 1 or class A silicone is turned into your 4090 GPU or intel 14900K flagship CPU from that same wafer you get tier 2 and 3 that become your 4080, 4070 and 4060 gpus and your lower core count CPUs. You have the same thing with EV batteries but worse because not only do you get lower grade cells the lower quality of assembly of the packs that have thousands of these cells. This is why these cars are burning up not only in people's houses but at the manufacturing plants and on the transport ships before they ever make it to a dealer. Even the cheapest EV is only made for the top 1-2% and with all the recent EV (car, motorcycle, E-bike and power tools) 25-50% of insurance companies are canceling coverage of EVs and the ones that will cover them are getting 200 to 1000% premium increase regardless of driving record. It is so bad that if you get into a minor fender bender but it so much as scratches the battery pack the insurance will require pack replacement with a starting price of $20K and up, a 1yr old EV would be totaled. SO do a little more research before you call someone a liar and by the way I have an insider in the insurance racket and this person does the programing that generates the base rates based on VIN and location before the retailers like State Farm, Allstate and all the rest add their extras on top.
