Some of this is pure anti China BS. The one supposedly going to a cemetery is suspicious as the language of the auto assistants in English, currently the Chinese domestic cars do not use English on the mainland. The sales in January plummeted as the government tax free incentive ended 31-12-2023, this resulted in record sales in December and a cliff drop in sales in January.

Sorry guys. The first clip is not an EV exploding. Notice everybody to the left bottom of the screen? Notice one guy waiting with his phone to film it? Notice that nobody flinched? Notice the absence of flames associated with Lithium ion battery fires? Notice the cases at the bottom left of the screen that look suspiciously like cases used in the film industry? And isn't that a RAV 4? Hybrid maybe, but they don't come out as EV's.

I didn't notice but went backed and watched again and again. I know this channel is anti-CCP, and that's okay. Their technical and business analysis is very sophisticated. But I always worry about KZbin and social media channels and their veracity. I found much that followed on industry interesting, and have followed those issues for decades. But do you think the explosion was CGI or staged somehow? It's entirely possible.

Makes since to me, if I was traveling from Columbus, GA. to Washington, D.C. at 732 miles, and made it only as far as 489 miles at Durham, NC for a few hours rest then I could probably reason with an EV that could get a 500 mile range. If I had the motivation to take it all the way in with only Pit Stops, then a Gas Car it will be. Overall, Gas Cars still reign Supreme for me.

@Plainsburner
@Plainsburner Жыл бұрын
@@simonl4657 I don't think the rate of fire in Tesla's is greater than normal cars. The main problem appears to be putting them out, which is significantly harder as thermal runaway in batteries burns significant hotter and longer than gas. Most cases are caused by collisions, which would be fatal if the collision caused difficulty in the passengers being able to exit the vehicle. The rate of explosions and fires of Chinese EVs is significantly higher than anything else on the market.

The work to engineer a good EV battery isn't easy. Just a few years ago we had BYD batteries being touted as so safe.. now we see that they have problems when they put them into packs. I'm not surprised the Chinese EVs are catching fire. When I was growing up my father was in the military. The only people using lithium batteries was the military and they had the nickname of the hand grenade or exploding battery. If they developed a short or they felt warm the technicians would go outside and throw them as far as they can like a hang grenade or throw them inside a metal garbage can and put the lid on it. We saw a few years ago when the samsung tablets were catching fire. It was because they were trying to make the batteries cheaper and cutting corners.

@Chris_1024_ Those are lies EV brainwashed fans keep telling. Some so called “studies” are either fabricated, or manipulated (for example., they only include Teslas, or just a certain region that conveniently has the least EV fires). The truth is: EV’s catch fire much, much, much more often than regular cars. To think that KZbin and social media (and press) being full of EV fires but not much regular car fires would be some kind of mass conspirator is just silly. Ask shipping companies (water, land, air) how they classify risks of regular cars transport vs EV transport. Unlike silly and blind EV fans, they aren’t silly, or blind. Let me leave you with this: literally a ton of batteries in a single vehicle is not smart or viable technology, you don’t have to be a genius to figure it out. Electric cars could be great, but not with today battery tech.

Seems to be a well timed hit piece with BYD just taking the world EV lead. -You have seen EVs catching on fire while transported on RoRo (roll-on roll-off) carriers. Generally it is not the EV starting the fire but once lithium and other metals catch on fire -they are nearly impossible to put out. The lithium fire is hot enough to split water into Oxygen and Hydrogen (flammable) gas.

How is showing videos of BYDs batteries exploding a hit piece? It's fundamentally a service to the community showing the massive safety issue using lithium batteries being entirely buried by the media and vested interests like yourself. This world has become idiotic when the truth just gets buried or the obvious truth mocked and highjacked by corporations with deep pockets and armies of useful idiots. Also, BYD, a Chinese company making cars in a country with poor employee safety, poor employee remuneration, a country with zero respect of intellectual property, that makes the world's equipment using the largest, most polluting coal fired grid (China has half of all coal fired power stations), a country that builds record numbers of new coal fired plants regardless of what the corporates that are vested in China greenwash about China's energy grid, a country that is engaged in ethnic cleansing, a country that exported a biological weapon to the rest of the world after shutting down it's own domestic flights, killing our grandparents all over the world. How is this good? China as a nation, not the hard-working people themselves, but the disgusting, sabre-rattling tyranny is a disgraceful blight upon this world created by the greed of multi-national corporations completely devoid of even a shred of morality. Chinese cars will be the only cars you can buy eventually, so I hope you like these piles of s***.

That car explosion doesn't look like it was caused by batteries.

it looks exactly like a lithium battery failure. Got to see one launch a five ton forklift out of a shop wall and burn for about half a day. Luckily nobody was in the bay when it happened, but one employees car a wall and about 30 yards of parking lot had to be replaced. When they fail the bigger and more confined they are, the more explosive. You have to remember that's a considerable amount of energy in a small package. obviously the path of least resistance was somewhere on the under tray.

It actually may have been staged. See earlier comments and replies regarding this issue.

@@dylanthomas12321 I don't know about staged, but China has been known to have issues with gas in sewerage lines before. As the car lifts up none of the flames seem to be attached to the car. Looks more like gas flashed off in a sewer line than a slow burning battery fire.

@@s13gouf60 ya, you aren't launching a car 3 meters into the air, rewatch the video, it's an old rav4 on a film set.

So..., who else thinks electric cars are NOT logical???
@returnnull3476
@returnnull3476 Жыл бұрын
They're logical only if you're commute is less then 30 miles and you live in an all year mild dry climate(aka urban new Mexico or urban Queensland). They need to be produced in a country with the rule of law and not processed by coal based generation.

It's quite coincidental that this video was released just when BYD became the leading seller of electric cars worldwide. BYD, a renowned battery manufacturer, ventured into car manufacturing. A quick Google search will reveal that BYD's Blade batteries are being utilized by other automakers, including Tesla, Mercedes, Hyundai, Toyota, and Ford, among others. It's worth mentioning that BYD is about to launch a new Sodium-ion EV battery plant. It's important to note that the first explosion in the video is not from an electric vehicle, let alone a BYD one. Furthermore, while the original video was cropped and blurred, you can still see that it's a film shoot if you look to the left. It's worth noting that BYD cars say BYD on the steering wheel. As you noticed in the video those steering wheels did not.

I always use the "slow charge" mode now. A couple of times I used the "fast charge" mode but it didn't save me any time cause I had to go around the lot and pick up my doors and other things. Never again.
