Hi Coley! You gained a new subscriber today 😊 Avid YT lover since 2009, I am very selective and don't just subscribe to anyone. I have been watching all your book related videos this week and absolutely love your channel 😊 I read Where The Crawdads Sing earlier this year and it got me out of a reading slump. I just love this book so much for sooooo many reasons, I could go on and on. I felt it in all the depth of my soul!!! Went out and bought a hardcover like you did because it has become my favorite. I love your passionate opinions but you hadn't mentioned it so I wasn't sure how you felt about it (was slightly scared you wouldn't like it due to its polarizing reviews) but subscribed the minute you mentioned it here :) I'm glad you love it too! Historical Fiction is my favorite Genre, I love a book that makes me cry. I love escaping into new worlds and learning about other cultures, peoples, and places. Khalid Hosseini is my favorite author. Don't mind a great WWII centered book here and there but generally prefer variety from all continents. Since I finished Where The Crawdads Sing in May, I have been going down the booktube rabbit whole doing research and that's how I can across your channel. Currently reading, Burial Rites by Hannah Kent and listening to Song of Achilles ❤️ ♥️ 💜 I don't care for Fantasy nor Sci Fi generally but do love an aspect of magical realism and greek mythology. I find that my reading slumps are usually due to trying to read non-fiction. It's best for me to listen to the book instead if I must ;) I don't read nearly as much as you do. I read about 20 pages an hour and only books I think I will love since its takes me so long. Needless to say, research is integral. I love to escape in a book and take my time to enjoy every word. I am excited to incorporate other fiction genres like Literary , Contemporary, and Romance but only willing to dedicate the time if they are must reads 5/5 books. Also, If you recommend a Historical Fiction novel, then I know I will love it. It pains me that you force yourself to finish books you don't find joy in at times but I understand its for your channel and part of your process. THANK YOU for your hard work, for sharing your reading journeying, and for being a part of mine now. I am even going to give Matt Haig a chance and read The Midnight Library. Also, excited to read A Court of Thorns and Roses Trilogy. I just subscribed to Book of the Month and chose The Library of Legends as my first book and can't wait to add on Pachinko next. Lastly, as a woman of color and immigrant, I appreciate your efforts in promoting anti-racism and your passion towards social justice period. It comes across very genuine and I feel in a safe place in your channel. Very excited about some of the Native American voices you have recommended and your book club recommendations too! ❤️
