I agree. It is a LOT of fun to play...but, a bit short. It reminds me of the original Sonic the Hedgehog in that respect. Great game...but easy. It's been a while since I played Revenge, but if I remember correctly it is an excellent sequel. I'll get to that at some point hopefully. Hee hee! Thanks for watching!

Ha ha. Definitely. I think it is a shame (and I mentioned this in my commentary on DVD) that Bonk wasn't available at the system's "launch." I really think that identifying the Turbo with a mascot early ON would have helped tremendously. Instead, Bonk came around the next year (and by then.......it was almost a tad too late, you know?). Hmm. Well, on the TurboGrafx there were two others (Revenge and Bonk III). I'll be covering those two very shortly, in fact. I know there were some translations for other systems. I went on a nostalgic trip just watching the game play and music from the game in your video. I remember playing this as a very young kid with my cousins at my grandmother's house. Thank you for bringing back those memories with your video.

Bonk is one of my favorite video game characters of all time. The TurboGrafx 16 was ahead of it's time.

There actually was a decent looking updated Bonk game for PS2 which was included on some Hudson collection disc. Unfortunately it was only released in Japan but it would make a great downloadable on WiiWare, PSN or XBL

The game that should have been a pack-in for the,TG16 in the frist place spida.I remember playing bonks at a freinds house in the early 90's afther it's release. For wich,Bonks Adventure gave me another reason to get the console to begin with.

This is a really informative and helpful video. Bonk's Adventure is supposed to come out for purchase on the 3DS Virtual Console, along with other to-be-announced TurboGrafx-16 games. I love this series. I recently completed it and bought Bonk 3 for my TG-16. In celebration, I played through Bonk's Adventure and Revenge last night. Man, my childhood just came flowing back to me. I enjoy your Turbo View series so much. This was my favorite console as a kid. I hope to one day own Magical Chase... Probably after taking out a huge loan. HAHA. Keep up the good work. Incredible review spida1a, I grew up playing this game and after i watched and during, my body was craving Bonks. I just got a Wii so this be will easy to get thankfully, I mean I checked Ebay and there are no TG16's available. I tend to move alot so I lost my TG16. I'm concerned mostly about the controls, because the wii controller doesnt have switches like the TG16 controller did to change the way the game was played. But it wont stop me from getting it. 5 stars.

Great video, it is a pity the bonk rpg did not come out, i saw it in egm, in the early 90's, if it did come out it was only in japan.

Nice review Sir! When it comes to doing Bonk III, can you do a comparison of the two versions at all pls? love to see the differences! Oh, and those levels in games where you fight all the bosses in succession, the Japanese call them "Boss Rush" levels! :D

Awesome review! Even though Bonk is a really good game, I like how you touched on some of it's weaker aspects also like the the structure of the levels being too long or too short, the jumping delay, etc ... Still, you gotta love Bonk! A great platformer, with catchy memorable music, and a great mascot!

I've commented before that while Sonic was a great game, it was a bit shallow compared to Super Mario World. By the same token, Bonk was great but not quite as deep as Super Mario Bros. 3. In fact, Bonk plays very much like an extremely vibrant 8-Bit platformer (Well, I guess it actually is.) That's not a bad thing by any means but I wonder if this "bang-for-the-buck" perception hurt the TG-16? When I think of my old Duo, I remember Gate/Lord of Thunder, Ys, SFII and others besides Bonk.

What I suggest is getting on ebay, look up "modded original xbox mame". I got one for $150 with 11000 games. Every system up to PS1.
