i miss old proxy, it was so strong you didnt even have to bring normal HE. it would automatically detonate directly over tanks so it was always a one shot kill and you could just lob it at an enemy marker and get a kill

Old HE-VT detonate over player's vehicle only. The new one detonate when over the ground or object which is closer to the real.

So one of the neat things about the M109 that you noticed in the first match is that the grass and environment actually reacts to the shell being fired, and it is by far one of my favorite in game realistic details And one of the fun things that I learned from my NCO's is that a 3H charge will make your clothes move, 4H charge will move the environment, and 5H (Max charge) will be able to make surrounding metal vehicles vibrate I was driving the ammo carrier and was bored waiting for the M109 to finish it's 3H fire missions so we can all go back home when out of no where they started firing, our vehicle was about 10-15m away, the back door was open for easy resupply and once a shot went off I felt the air pressure change, I was also not wearing ear pro so my hearing went from normal to muffled (Not enough to hurt my ears but enough to make all sound muffled for a few mins).

When we did Bradley gunnery, the Paladin's would be firing near where we parked the vehicles that were done for the day. I remember sitting on a small hill behind the Paladin's watching them fire and you could see the round as it left the muzzle and then for a couple seconds after.

@@dimesadozen1545 Yeah, during AIT I was behind the Paladin and I'd watch and the best thing I could think of to describe it is it being shot seeing the round in "Frames Per Second" You see if for less than a second then in 1s it's miles away

You can run the proxy shell as your main. It has the same pen as the regular HE, works in direct fire and you can fire it over the top of tiger 2s, jadgtigers, (and most other heavy tank) turrets to overpressure with proxy. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Hey odd, if you want to do some bonking, I'd recommend the Pbv 501 and the A21RB. They've both got some nice HEAT to sling at a br where it's not expected.

Fun Fact: The Paladin is the only M109 G variant that has the decreased shell velocity from the shorter barrel. All the other M109 G's are exactly the same as the M109A1 just as 6.0 instead of 6.3

I have over 300 planes shot down in my German M109G, you have to aim just a bit more ahead of the plane or lower depending on the angle of attack, for fast jets you might have to turn the tank for a quick shot

baba_jaga took down both planes when you got the nuke Also, I had no idea that HE worked like that. 61mm pen can pen a T34 anywhere, but a m61 APCBC with 104mm pen cant because HE apparently ignores angled armor or something

45mm at 60 degrees ends up being almost 90mm that the armor penetrating shell has to travel through in a straight line. An HE shell or a HESH shell aren't designed to actually enter the tank, they explode against it and the Shockwave turns the armor into shrapnel instead of the shell being shrapnel

15:19 The timer will not save you now because I have had a few games where my plane or tank was busted up and it gives the kill to the player that busted you up at the end of the match if you don't make it back to the airfield or a cap to replenish crew or put out a fire.

The most important part is definitely that J is not spelled as djei (Jason), but like in europe J = ji (Cow Boy shouting Yeehaw (Ye parti is european ji))

the M109G in the german tech tree has the shorter barrel with the A1s higher muzzle velocity, why? No idea. It's a lower BR too, thanks Gaijin

The Germans upgraded the entire FCS including a newly designed breech by Rheinmetall and built by Thyssen (IIRC) to create the M109G. One of the changes was swapping the interrupted screw breech for a breechblock style. All the changes gave it roughly a 3,400m increase in range, likely in part by increased muzzle velocity.
