Get an in depth look at the rollercoaster ride of emotions Team Lowbrow Customs faced at Bonneville Speed Week 2017. Tyler Malinky chases a record with every single mile per hour he can stretch on his 1955 Pre-Unit Triumph. While Alp Sungurtekin debuts his brand new T200 partial streamliner, a 1950 Pre-unit Triumph running on nitro. Both with ambitious goals of smashing records in their class all while risking it all on the salt.

Enjoyed the video. Didn't understand how the chain slipped off? I have done some serious tire spinning out there without that happening, glad nothing really bad occurred.

The paint caused the axel nut to slide on top of one of the adjusters loosening. we scratch off the access paint, saftey wired the axel adjusters.

Jerry, the axle plates are open slots at the rear, like a stock bike. What I believe happened was that a small stainless axle spacer spun and 'bit' into the aluminum spacer next to it and promptly cut into it about .120". This allowed my rear wheel to loosen and the left side pulled forward (drive side) and the right pulled back. The chain jumped the sprocket, but I was able to safely pull off the course.

It took me 3 years to build, I actually made the 2 into one pipes filling them with sand with the bike upside down and the tubes in the exhaust with heat the pipes were bent

Weird that they decided to use the old iron head and not an aluminum one..
@lowbrowcustoms
@lowbrowcustoms 6 жыл бұрын
I used an iron head because SCTA rules are pre 1956 for vintage class.. First year for alloy head was 1956 so I have to run iron heads on my race Triumphs to stay in vintage class! Not ideal, but I make the best of it :)
@jaratt85

Yet they allow it to be a 750 despite the fact that that displacement wasn't around till mid 70's? It'd be interesting to see if you would be allowed to run one of the old bronze/brass heads if you could get your hands on one. BTW, know anyone that wants a 65 T120C that was set up for flat track before we got it? I can link a playlist I did of it if you want to check it out.. I'd rather keep it in the family but I'm jobless and my dad's retired Air Force and not making much these days so he needs the money. Thanks for the reply btw.

Think of it this way.. do whatever you can as if it is 1955. There was definitely different size pistons in 1955! Poison Ivy has a motor in it that is only 680cc running in the 750cc class. I just built a new motor with a stroker crankshaft that brings it closer to a true 750. It is still vintage, just modifying the stroke or bore.

So many videos ruined by music, no exception here. Why would anyone making a video aimed at petrol heads, think that crap, over-loud 'atmospheric' music is a good idea? It just doesn't figure.

Seems a bit narcissistic. Most of the video time was close ups of the rider not the bikes.

If you would like, we have a new film we just released thats an hour long focused again on our team but with 4 riders this year. kzbin.info/www/bejne/anmmfpJ-bJZqZrc. Sorry it's not an over all outlook on Bonneville Speed Week.

Yeah and where is ALL OF YOUR FREE media that you're putting out you ungrateful peice of shit, just like EVERY Aussie I've EVER met, thinks the world owes them something and thinks they are better then everyone else, you ARE one BIG bummer thumbs down yourself, why don't you go on the Australian free media website and watch all the great footage you and your people have put out, oh that's right that will never exist because you guys are busy complaining about the man in the Arena and telling everyone how you would do it better if your loud mouth was doing it, fucking born loser . . . .
