I think the dislikes come from MST3K fans and fans of Sci-Fi Channel; like Doug Herzog of Comedy Central, Bonnie wanted to make her new administration "hipper" and MST3K wasn't really seen as "hip" nor was it "worth the money" and fans of the channel didn't like how it was named SyFy as the new name was intended to be trendier. In defense of her, at least she kept MST3K's contract and let it run until 2004 (the final year of the contract), SyFy still shows science-fiction shows, and still air their bi-annual Twilight Zone marathon; Doug Herzog just gave MST3K only one six-episode season, removed the show in 1997, and Comedy Central doesn't even acknowledge it, despite being the only show on Comedy Central to air 24-hour marathons (South Park had their 24-hours+ online only) and the first show to win a Peabody Award during its run.
